Hmm, I wonder if the Malignance status effect is that the magic makes someone malignant, or if the magic is identifying someone as malignant so it damages the person.
If its the latter, then I have a guess on what the magic is combined with. Oh yeah, Tech did have an interest in this magic now that I think abt it…
