how about you just change your magic at an alchemist
you dont understand, changing a number in a variable requires too much dev time and would require vetex to re-write the entire story
And you know whats funny? Full release will drop and there will be a patch note stating “hecate essence drop increased to 1/8” meaning you have to spend 5 hours in the dark sea instead of 7
At least a small rate buff would better than nothing, I can do a lot with those two free hours
It’s to extract as much money from premium payouts and playtime as possible without being to blatant to the naked eye. AO’s endgame is literally built with profit first in mind and making it not “Give Me Your Mom’s Credit Card For Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Greatsword” seems to be enough for a person with slightly higher standards to not take notice. The guy has to profit off of premium payouts with a free game with barely any monetization.
To be fair he does get most of his money from patreon i feel (i estimate like 2-3k a month) so yeah i dont think he gets all that much from the game itself
can someone on patreon please ask him
Reasonable ngl. It’s honestly a healthy thing to stop playing a game that isn’t meeting your standards in a major way like this. I’ve done the same with Deepwoken (though I still enjoy moderaring it).
you moderate for deepwoken?
- True, it isn’t much time anyways
- High agility build, there isn’t much to offer.
- The High Agility can be done with a full theurgist, without virtuous (you get 4 warding)
- Ignore the enemies
- It’s bright purple, most terrain is dark, and the closest you get to that is the purple but from the taint urchins.
- No can do, learn how to retain your memory.
- Well yeah but that applies to every other task imaginable.
perhaps bad timing but what games are those, i need new games to play ![]()
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again
vetex sorta expects arcane odyssey to be filled with constant clan wars
that’s why three playstyles are balanced around how easy it is to change their attack type. that only really makes sense in a clan war where time pressure means you can’t constantly tell your clan to change their build to counterpick the enemy clan
- weapons: braindead
- fighting styles: kinda tedious
- magic: actual nightmare
Firstly, AO is (hopefully) never going to be like that.
Secondly, I don’t think vetex wants AO to be like that.
Thirdly, I don’t see how this is relevant at all.
why ELSE would vetex not let magic users change their magic as easily as fighting styles? you could say lore but didn’t vetex retcon minds like you said?
Lore.
Yes, I’m confused too.
also what special advantage would changing magic mid-clan war have over changing literally anything else???
maybe magics would be balanced around having a slightly better matchup spread compared to weapons and fighting styles, but the way to change magic means that a hardcounter to a magic user is more annoying for said magic user to counterpick in a timely manner
i know this is from another game but iirc deepwoken literally has people dragging attacks/items from their inventory when they run out of hotbar slots for more versatility, i wouldn’t be surprised if arcane odyssey in the future had weapon users switching between 6 exotic/legendary weapons while hiding in a tree for 10 seconds for counterpicking
you can’t change your loadout while combat tagged.
also whenever sensing gets added, it’ll probably be impossible to hide from your opponent unlike how it is now.
Omfg one feature does NOT justify dispossession ![]()
