There was this girl in middle school that tried to steal and eat my lunch every day IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS.
That was one of the only encounters I had to end physically… every day.
Not in the punching kind of way, more in the grabbing arm and forcing them to let go kind of way.
Nobody, students or teachers, ever really said anything about how I handled it, so I think I did what was appropriate.
