true, but tbh I don’t think its happening. shadow is just too basic, it just is good all around but nothing special that could be accentuated into a fighting style.
(also we don’t know if vetex is basing the fighting styles off magic or just kind of elements in general)
I feel like a better example would be addition of radius fist and impact fist as in arcane adventures (If it was balanced):
Radius fist - Large range, damage over-time with each key
Impact fist - Large range, Large damage in one move with charge up
Don’t these two feel similar?
These two got added to arcane adventures and will in AO (Just re-worked)
Vampirism focuses more on blood-stealing (health-steal) on hits
Shadow focuses on invisibility and more dodges
These two are somewhere more different than impact and radius and are not exactly similar in a way or an aberration
Unless did I read something wrong because all I heard and interpreted was that vampirism is just like shadow
Anyways this post was HOW shadow-based fighting style would work not IF it should get added to AO

there is lots of untapped potential with every magic honestly, you just gotta be inspired enough
shadow came to mind though since there is an asian/japanese kingdom planned and it would be really cool if their kingdom had a signature FS that was inspired by shadow magic.

just make a shadow/light fighting style focused on alternating between things, if you use 2 of the same attack twice its damaged is reduced, but mixing it up buffs it.
