also i feel this is relevant to bring up, this isn’t the first case of custom magic abuse. well more accurately, it wasn’t magic itself being used, it was arcanium cannons infused with cataclysm magic
If you don’t want to read a wall of text. Xael and Fierytide (accomplice) ganked someone in the dark sea using cataclysm cannons and plundered them of their dark sealed chests.
Justification in this post is just terrible, so many people who replied turned a blind eye. I doubt anyone involved recieved punishment. im not even really sure if the guy who got robbed of dark sealeds was given a restoration of his chests. I doubt vetex would anything now considering nothing was done before.
needless to say, im very disappointed in the blatant nepotism.

Ngl, we cant tell much from small clips considering what I can see here is framing the mods as abusing their devspec without knowing the full story from both sides.
Though I do agree that using devspec on a high infamy clan is controversial, I get that they received their custom magic through contribution and helping against getting harassed but that only works if they arent involved in a clan, especially if it’s in a leaderboard.
Sure they themselves don’t care about the leaderboard but that doesn’t change the fact that they are and also have a huge advantage against other clans when they clearly have a nuclear bomb.

Should they use devspec to defend themselves? Yes.
But should they use it while being in a clan? Probably no but it’s not like it would change anything.
forget noble phantasm. if exploiters were defending their friends using custom magic, people would be calling them scum. but when the contributors do it, they’re just a chill guy.
call it an extreme comparison, but the way i see it the exploiters and the contributors abusing their customs aren’t so different from each other.
