glass magic is pretty good and underrated. also glass is glass 
about a non crystalline transparent solid. Its just made how it is suppose to look like

ive mained crystal for nearly 500 hours now, so i can share my unbias opinion on the matter 
because ive used it so much, the speed feels just right for me. i know people who use other magics think otherwise though. i will say though its speed doesnt help of course. because, well, faster magics are better. sometimes my blasts just quite dont reach the other guy fast enough and they avoid it
crystal as well has basically the same damage as wind. sure, its like 10 damage difference, but cmon its 10 damage. so yeah it doesnt do super good damage but its better than avarage
crystal as well doesnt do amazing clash-wise when i play. typically my blasts just get erased or turned into little blasts when i clash which isnt amazing. never really get to do a gold/iron and just tank the clashes
ive been playing much more wood recently, mainly because its speed and damage is extremely similar to crystal. only thing ive noticed between crystal and wood though is
- wood has a better synergy with bleed
- wood has higher size
so i can say that wood is just better crystal. the fact that there is a magic better than another magic kinda means the other magic isnt great. exception being shadow/lightning of course
because crystal is a slow magic, you typically need to play fairy aggressive with it. i play semi-aggressive with it (i just sit a little bit away from someone and mash q and small blasts). when you play aggressive, you really need to hit your shots frequently and out-damage someone. a lot of meta magics out speed and out damage crystal, and crystal’s size isnt super amazing
so in my opinion, dont bother using crystal in pvp unless you really like using it (like me!). its not very good and there are much better magics you can use

Maybe like a dark grey one but it wouldn’t really be similar enough to be visually recognizable as magma (maybe it still glows orange)
eh glass is like the easiest for actually applying bleed so I think its alright as it is. I wouldn’t complain if it got an effect but I don’t think it needs one.

Nah I like that there is an element that bleeds no matter how much damage it does. Also funny loud crash sound.
