Is a team of multiple different types (e.g. 9-12-unique-type teams) viable?

Alright, you have a pokemon team of 6 and each one can have up to two different types.
Would it be a good idea to have 9-12 of these unique types in one team? Basically, if it would be a good idea to have almost no pokemon with similar types in a team.
uhm I mean personally it probably depends, but for certain types of teams like rain teams you probably wouldn’t want to run a whole bunch of different typings and usually stick with water as a consistent option for pokemon (with like 1 exception maybe)
though personally running 2 steel types in the current meta is my preferred choice since how prevalent fairy types are, also I try to carry a ground type in case of zacian, usually excadrill comes to mind

What is the point of the Klutz ability? It seems pretty detrimental tbh.
it’s supposed to ignore the effects of items, which in some cases can be helpful (i.e ignoring things like sticky barb), but yeah overall it’s kinda useless since majority of items are meant to be helpful to pokemon
I don’t know if this is possible, but could you put an item like a toxic orb or something on the pokemon with Klutz. Then use switcharoo or something to give it to the enemy?
idk if klutz means you can’t have any items or not
