It is called After. It is a franchise that is originally a series of books on Wattpad, and then movies that disobeyed the COVID distancing guidelines. Watch it, you’ll be both concerned because of the moral implications the story tries to give and the fact no character can be called a decent human being, as much as the creators try to make it seem like they are.

I’ve read it when I was probably 6. All I interpreted was “sad” and “death”. Much less than the authors other works.
I don’t know the official title in English, I just translated the one I know. It’s the one by Andersen where the girl lights matches, hallucinates, and then dies.
Wow that’s a lot less romantical than the modern version.
The fact that the punishment was to wear red hot slippers heated on coals, then dance in them until she died is something that would leave nightmares for the kids. Though maybe their imaginations wouldn’t recreate the scenes as vividly.
It’s also interesting how there was no “wake up kiss” from the prince. It was only a happy little accident that woke her again. As magical as it is, it’s almost like the nothing will ever happen to you if you are pretty. Even if you’re dumb (Snow white literally lacks the common knowledge to not open the door when her mother is trying to kill her. THRICE.), or if you have a hired assassin after you. It’ll all be ok if you’re beautiful.
