Is explosion magic a good magic at all?

Check the giant link I put in my reply.
If it really is incorrect please contact whoever made that spreadsheet lol.

From testing, it seems like Gold does more damage to buildings (though unconfirmed) than Explosion, but is less destructive in destroying individual parts compared to Explosion. But Explosion is ultimately the most destructive magic regardless.

The destruction multipliers on that doc were somewhat inaccurate, so I fixed them. They should be more accurate now, but not 100% accurate since it is hard to get accurate results with only a level 60 cap.

I feel like explosion should be best at both types of destruction…
Because that’s why people want to use explosion at all.

Explosion could also use some better synergies, there isn’t much reason to include it in a 3 magic build other than haha megumin funmy.
Most people will probably regret putting it in their character build sometime down the line, myself included.

Aw cmon, we don’t ONLY do it for Megumin funny!

…We also do it for Killer Queen funny!

or because we like explosions just choose what you like aaa

Sure, you can just choose what you like, but you’ll get your butt kicked extremely hard against people who actually thought about how their magics intereacted.

For instance, if you choose fire + ice you’re going to have a very bad time.

it would be a good magic if it weren’t for the fact that power and defense are the only working stat bonuses that work right now :pensive:

What are you talking about explosion does cause the most destruction

You didn’t read every reply.

ranted a bit, so tldr: player skill and gear matters most in a fight, magics provide some slight edges sure, but not as much as skill and gear differences

What does that have to do with explosion having not the best magic interactions and a very niche appeal?

it doesn’t, and that’s pretty much my point. skill and gear matters more than your magic interactions. and i don’t know where “niche appeal” falls into the discussion here, maybe the devastation? i dunno. point is i like and use explosion magic and i’ve never had a problem with it even though it’s apparently a low tier.

eh it aight
20 characters

You’ll start to have problems by the time third magic comes out and your doing lower than average damage because it’s hard to find things that work amazingly well with explosion.
Your second and third magics may as well just be based off of making each other better and letting explosion fall to the wayside as just a “for fun when doing quests” thing.

i don’t think you realize - even though i stated it - that i’m playing for fun, not for meta. i like explosion magic, i don’t have any problems winning 1v1s with meta slaves, i can destroy any npc, don’t you see my point? i don’t have a problem with explosion magic, skill matters more than that. your nuances provide some edges in some aspects and disadvantages in others

Eh, we’ll see when second and third magic come out. :slightly_smiling_face:

at that point your locked into your magic mate, no going back. can’t you just realize that not everyone are simps to the meta.

also, explosion has interactions bro wdym
plasma is amazing, as is fire. then there’s ash, magma and acid. could also use wood or some other bleeder. think you just want to hate in explosion magic cause it’s not “tHE meTa”

Scaling is nonexistent anyway due to power items, do whatever you want

Yea explosion magic is really cool, the only problem I have with it is its casting speed which I should theoritically be able to counter with casting speed gear thingi s 0.04% per point doesn’t make much of a difference :pensive:

That’s either you playing at 20 FPS or it’s Explosion’s magic speed. If it’s the latter, that also happens with Snow, Ash, Ice, Wood, Crystal, Earth, Magma, Iron, and Gold.
