here’s some website links, the second one has more statistics in it if you are into that more
tf kind of stupidity did I just stumble upon…
Sandal, you do realize that mental disorders are a way to describe how a person’s brain works right?
It’s a description used to identity, treat and manage various traits and behaviors that we currently view as dysfunctional and or harmful.
It’s also an incredibly subjective and constantly evolving field of research.
The point being, people are people and people can not be simplified down to a label.
They remain people, different, but still people.
I should probably try to remember this more because I am kinda judgmental sometimes and easily label stereotypes onto groups.
like furries being weirdoes.
in an ironic twist tho…
uhm…
actually no I’ll save that for another post.
Like, uh, I dunno…
ACTUAL PEOPLE?!
also if we are playing statistics on crimes,
did you know that despite black people making up less than 20-30% of the American populace, they commit more crimes in total than the others? - literally data published by the FBI.
That involves over 10x more robberies committed by black skinned individuals, and a larger percentage of homicide offenders- taken from the NCVS and published data.
If you think about it, they would all fall under your definition of psychopathic, since they commit more crimes in general.
No offence to y’all out there, but this is why statistics are kinda shit for moral reasons like this.
oh boy mathematical loopholes my favorite (not really I hate math)
but how tho when they are inherently dangerous?
genuine question
How do we know they are? You understand that sometimes you won’t even know if someone is a psychopath even if you have known them for years
Psychopaths are probably dangerous because of a lack of empathy? (and a good few psychopaths arent even dangerous?)
I mean they are manipulative, lack empathy, and are more likely to cause harm to someone (also my stepfather was a narcissist so I kinda know when someone is manipulative) so how can you treat someone who intentionally/unintentionally does these acts to people in a civil way?
this post is going to damage my head
I mean do you just avoid them?
or does that make them more resentful.
wdym
I mean if I was avoided I would get pretty angry especially if I had some inherently pretty dangerous mental condition.
okay yeah I make a mistake here, but they cannot feel empathy, important emotion.
I’m going to plaster this image on a wall
To actually answer the hypothetical question posed in this topic, no, no it is not morally acceptable. ( I assume we’re referring to popular western morality here. )
Innocent until proven guilty, we are defined by our actions, not our thoughts.
The only caveat here being that an intervention is justifiable should it be established that there is a legitimate threat of harm to others.
( By whatever metrics that experts have settled upon. )
And even then murder is not justifiable if they haven’t actually done anything.
yea I’m sorry but this just applies to the entire world in general tbh
I messed up big time haven’t I
Probably but I haven’t spent much time outside of western culture so I find it best to avoid talking about areas that I’m weak in as if I know much.
