It's pride month, yippee!

I’m only aware of violence against the LGBTQ community outside of the USA. Thus far, I haven’t read or seen any coverage of violence in the USA, if you can point some recent cases out, then that’d be spreading awareness.

Yes, cancel culture didn’t do the LGBTQ community any favors.

Even if it’s a minority, I am aware that every case pushes back the LGBTQ community disproportionally compared to anyone else. Although, generally speaking, it might be due to the nature of those crimes that occur, even if they are few.

That’s never going away, and the hate isn’t exclusive to the LGBTQ as a minority group. I won’t elaborate on the injustices, I’m not aware of any specific cases of injustice unless you wanna talk about when that stuff was completely outlawed.

well for one, there was the hate crime attack against two lesbians in Illinois last month

Trump has also forced trans people’s passports to list their assigned gender at birth rather than the gender they identify as, essentially putting a target on their back for discrimination. He has attempted to ban trans people from enlisting in the military, eliminated protections for LGBTQ people, censored LGBTQ history from government sites, and so much more

ah, a topic celebrating pride month has devolved into an argument.

i love the forums of the hit roblox game arcane odyssey.

Actual bad thing then, I looked into it. Thankfully she survived, but there’s nothing confirming that the other one involved was a lesbian. From what I can tell, Grass and her cousin (a minor), had an encounter with two males (one of which was a minor as well). Grass seems to be the one who was attacked from what I can tell, and thankfully the two males involved were arrested.

Passports from what I recall use sex, not gender.

I believe there are statistical mental issues involving that. When it comes to a military, you need mentally fit people, and they were replaced with the increased recruitment numbers. Also this isn’t an attempt, Supreme Court ruled in favor of it.

I’d like to hear about the protections that were removed. Also which articles had LGBTQ censored?

I’m gonna go offline for now though, replies are taking too long and I’ll probably get back on some other time.

Dawg instead of using your energy arguing in this thread, why don’t you focus it on something more productive, like raising awareness on the forums for that military appreciation month? That’s a big part of your issue with pride month, no? The fact that people are vocal about celebrating pride month but not lesser known months like the one for vets, thus making the LGBT seem entitled?

But unfortunately you don’t seem to care for it enough yourself considering the first time you’ve ever mentioned it was in this thread. If you truly were as passionate about it as the LGBT are about pride month, you would’ve been spreading awareness of it without doing so to bring others down.

Not to mention if the military and vets truly are the bastion of freedom you said they are, I doubt they’d appreciate you using them as a tool to take from others considering that’s the opposite of the freedom they fight for. Again, why not lift up groups that you feel aren’t recognized enough without needing to bring others down?

no you can get it changed

yeah because of bigots

Double checking my wording, I’ll reply to the block of text above this later.

Last I checked sex is based on chromosomes, and gender was separate from that as an identity.

Depends, but I’m sure some of those cases are caused by HRT during the formative years. I won’t deny that ‘bigotry’ as you put it is a potential cause, but it depends on your definition of bigotry because it can get excessive. I could use your responses from earlier and apply it to the military, but that’s petty, isn’t it?

I meant you can get the marker changed

source?

I’m sure you’ve at least heard of the bills being passed blocking funding for gender-affirming care and the rejection from serving in the military for transgender people in the US, and this exclusion will lead to the normalization of alienation and eventually violence against this group of people, which already has been common.

Some specific cases of blatant hatred against the lgbtq+ community in the US:

Chris Allen Villegras-Fentress was shot and killed in Georgia, having been called slurs by the attacker (2025)

In Ohio a man tried to burn down a church due to them planning to host drag events (2023)

From Michigan, Mack Davis plead guilty to planning out mass shootings in places that are frequented by queer people (2024)

And of course, online attention towards the death of Charlotte Fosgate (May 2025) has resulted in terrible amounts of transphobia and people celebrating her suicide.

not looking to have any responses back to this or to start arguments; I encourage others to look into these and more recent incidents
