Always! In fact I find writing WITH a plan much more difficult! I write how the pen or keyboard flows.
I’m not really a writer, and I know you’re referring to switchblade but I do it it most of the time and it ends up being better than with a plan, somehow.
Though without prior planning there are stuff I want to do but can’t, and flaws that emerge eventually. I cannot plan for some reason.
