Pretty sure canonically it’s just that so few people go to the Dark Sea that it’s basically not worth mentioning. It’s like if out of a population of 50 million let’s say in the War Seas only 100 or 200 known have ever gone there. Also I doubt anyone remembers an expedition for more than their Captain and the couple other notable people; history never considers the little guy unless it’s a casualty in a statistic or an after thought. So if it’s like, 4-5 ships, maybe 6 or 7 at most, then yeah; for something the average person doesn’t really care about or might not even really know about because they’ll just use trade or travel routes. Basically no one goes to the Dark Sea.
