Turmoil in Styx after a recent dispute between town leaders! Major destruction of Snow Folk town hall!
Rex Norberg here, filling in for Janice today, since she and Ellis are out today for something (I forgot what), so now I’m writing this article that she was meant to write!
This edition of Magius News will be covering the politics occurring in Styx, the previous New Greek Territory under Alvarian control, and the attack on the Snow Folk town hall in Aurora Village bringing the Snow Folk army into the hunt for the Crimson Scourge (the name given by most of the affected people for the mysterious wizard causing these acts).
First off in the news, political turmoil has risen in the New Greek area of Alvarian Territory after a dispute between the Alvarian Styx Village Leader Oba and the New Mount Olympus village leader Phagi over the New Athenian gang. Earlier this month, a dispute arose between Oba, a newer Village leader from Alvaria who became a leader in the New Greek Territory due to his father being a village leader as well, and the village leader Phagi, who is the younger brother of Artemis Lumen.
Phagi argued that the New Athenians were being demonized too often when they were simply people who wished to regain their independence, and that they wouldn’t be violent if the Alvarians weren’t taking such drastic measures against them; however, Oba fired back by saying that Phagi was only sympathizing with them because of them being related to the previous New Greek throne, and that he should’ve been taken from his leader role for trying to defend “the Athenian terrorists” as he said. This then caused a back and forth between the two leaders, before turning into what can only be described as an endless insulting contest. This fighting between them has continued between the two for the better half of this month, and has begun to stir up the local New Greeks and Alvarians who moved into the area, causing more division between the two cultures. While the other village leaders have attempted to resolve the dispute, they have kept on going for over three weeks over the issue of the New Athenians. This situation has yet to be calmed, and it likely won’t for the coming months, but we will continue to report on the topic.
Next on the story, the Snow Folk have joined the hunt for the Crimson Scourge, the name given to the wanted wizard who has been destroying structures via explosion for the past few years, after the criminal had blown up a town hall during a meeting. Reports from civilians near the area have reported that at least 50 people were inside the town hall during the attack, and only a reported 5 have been found alive in the wreckage. It was said that the Snow Folk leader Sock arrived as quick as they could, doing their best to put out the fire with their ice magic and searching for survivors. after the attack, Sock declared that the Snow Folk were joining in on the hunt for the Crimson Scourge, and have urged the rest of the Desert Ring Syndicate to join in themselves in order to find this wizard and bring them to justice. We will continue to report on this to ensure that people are informed about the dangers of this criminal and urge readers to report on any sightings of them they see.

so i got really sidetracked while writing this, sorry. I had to do a bunch of chores and I watched the second episode of the fallout show with my dad which took a lot of my focus away from this.
I think it might be best to let other people write if they want, so I’m starting this now.
Because I’m prone to procrastinating on this (and also very sidetracked by school currently [and also lazy]), I’m allowing people to write their own articles under their own writer characters from a culture of their choosing aside from the ones already present, unless we get more characters than cultures who are writing. I just ask that (if anyone actually DOES do this), they follow these rules:
Don’t AI generate any of it. I’m saying this mostly just for before something like this this happens, but I don’t really want AI generated prompts for this. I think it’s better if people write it themselves for it.
Don’t do interview portions, since I usually have specific questions I want to ask the person for the article. You can do any of the other prompts from the wheel spins I do just as long as you follow them and don’t make up anything that is completely unrelated to that event in its section.
I might allow people to do their own extra portion about something else going on (could be anything funny that’s unrelated or something similarly related to events while still being disconnected from it, etc.), but I don’t really expect anyone to actually do this just yet since this thread is not the most active.
The Alvarians, after realizing the new Greek rebellion was inevitable, simply decided to make the inevitable never come, having their top scientists work on a time dialator, the entirety of magius’s timeline is paused forever, in fact, I t h i n k t . h . e . y . a . . . r . . . e . . . t , , , u , , , , r , , , , , , n , , , , , , i…
anyways I’m really burnt out on this and I’m considering moving it to the new map I’ve made that’s completely separate from this, and I think that could lead to some more interesting stuff with people
