The idea of putting a catholic church in a game where theres already a confirmed different religion would imply that the catholic church is wrong, the idea that it could concievably develop in a world like this necessarily implies that they are also wrong in this timeline, and is therefore heresy.

I’d be all for something like a sign about getting mental help, not taking your own life, and something for veterans, because that is a neutrally good, unbiased agreement that “yeah, thats pretty good, that comes from care and love”

I kinda like the “no real religion thing” it has, but does have a canon pantheon.
My fantasy world has different religions, or rather, people have patron gods and worship them in different ways. I can see that MAYBE happening, something similar for some god or another in the game, but its a big stretch.
Shoving a religion in people’s faces has to be one of the worst ways to get people to follow it.
I get the idea of wanting to avoid that. The existence of Jesus Christ basically changes everything about history, its easier to write a story something set in a real word parallel where he doesn’t exist. Plus, it avoids stepping on anyones toes by saying something dumb like he was an oracle. Better to not even mention him.
Yea putting the Christian God in the lore in any position that isn’t above chaos in terms of raw unfathomable power would just piss people off, frankly.

if you want a church in game just go to the temple on orthys or make one with clan building, im sure at some point there’ll be something like a church on a island somewhere but those are the two closest things your gonna get rn
also, why specifically add a church cause of christianity? i think the architecture of churches is cool and one could fit into the game somewhere but if the reason for adding it is so christian people who play ao can have their own convention there i dont get it
