For a Rare Magic?

Ya gotta remember, Rare Magics are for the level 300 range(Again, I think that’s the level Vetex said, I could be remembering wrong).

ya gotta remember “rare” magics aren’t suppsoed to be stat sticks, just more unique

Okay, but like, most all stats for base magics already average around 1x anyways. They just have some higher or lower than 1x.

Having one magic equal across the board doesn’t really seem all that powerful to me.

Metal’s damage is 1,05x and it’s the higest in the game

And a good chunk of the others that are lower than 1x have ways of dealing more damage, that takes their total damage calc over 1x, via special effects. Even Metal has bleed that gives it higher damage if it does enough in one hit, which you just know some minmaxer has a way to do so consistently.

Compared to all the other Base Magics, I’m still convinced that 1s across the board with no special damage effect isn’t all that strong.

this.

Oh damn.

Well that explains why I hadn’t seen any, even after scrolling pretty far.

I’d completely forgotten about that.

so it’s just a worse clone of one of your other magics that also goes against the entire point and main appeal of ao’s magic system

the summoning spell idea is good though, elementals would be great to have for this game

Maybe so. I’ll have to scratch out the Magic part of this post anyways.

Thanks, honestly just having familiars is yet another staple of MMOs I’ve been waiting to see in AO, and it just hasn’t happened, so I figured I’d suggest it.

Guardian should provide a small damage absorption effect when near the caster. Mostly because having another NPC/Summon that could potentially be quite large would be an issue hitbox wise. If they stay close enough, it’s basically a bigger hitbox, making you an easier target to hit by extension since they can alternatively hit the golem which would be right next to you. Ofc this would more so apply for things like blasts, and it’s probably not that big of an issue.

magic

Indeed. Magic.

But also because Dragons aren’t made of their element, they simply breathe it. Which is honestly weirder and harder to explain. Vetex, explain this!

Thanks, honestly the only one I was nervous about was the Ranger for obvious reasons.

maybe solid magic dragons just dont have breath attacks but strong scales made out their element and have increased physical strength or something :woman_shrugging:

That actually seems cool, but there’s this tingling sensation I’m getting that tells me this can be abused by the caster somehow. Something something Resistance Aura + Guardian.

But it does still seem somewhat viable, and yes, him sticking close could cause problems when it comes to people firing off blasts and placed explosions.

This. Listen to this person. Honestly we just dunno enough about Dragons yet.

Is there any particular problem with it or does the Summon Series in general just seem like an issue?
