No ideas for the moment

Tech told me lol

F, so Freedrock is choosing to shadow box on purpose when he could use primitive magic given his essential immortality

wait whereā€™d you get that from?

:face_vomiting:

idk where, just uses the same logic as mutations

I gotta look at Freedrock in a new light now that I know he voluntarily wants to shadow box and not use primitive magic

wdym ā€œsame logic as mutationsā€

curse users can use magic after getting their curses, but as ethe, said itā€™s a lot weaker

also for all we know freedrock never could use magic
but itā€™s also possible he just didnā€™t use it since itā€™s primitive and damages him when he does
we might find out more about him in ao

yeah just killing someone wouldnā€™t give you the curse by itself, otherwise weā€™d have gotten some lore tidbit about that by now
especially since curse users canā€™t die of natural causes

from a thematic perspective, why would really powerful people go after a curse that probably just makes you decently harder to kill?
if you had that many resources or whatever, you could probably just invest into finding other curses
if anything being able to actually kill the guy means the curse itself isnā€™t all that good from a thematic perspective
granted I have no context of this conversation nor the effort to check

from another thematic perspective, nicknames donā€™t come out of nowhere
typically a nickname only comes up in use when attempting to mock someone, not simply by virtue of existing or a power

the exiled is literally exiled, him being in exile is a major aspect of his identity
with the minotaur it perfectly describes him and is more interesting than just saying ā€œjohn mcnormal destroyed a townā€, especially given they were infamous

someone being nicknamed ā€œhydraā€ by virtue of just being hard to kill wouldnā€™t make sense on any major note
even if someone were to jokingly call him that, most people wouldnā€™t
(from a thematic view)

if they were to have enough resources to try to hunt down a nigh-immortal man then theyā€™d probably know thatā€™d itā€™d be a waste of time compared to hunting down directly strong curses
while curses are rare,
curse users probably arenā€™t particularly rare if one were to look for them,
anyone knowledgeable would probably know what curses are capable of

technically that depends on what the curse is specifically
the promethean flame curse for instance had the properties of the other grand flame curses albeit weaker
but for the most part true yes

primitive magic uses the soul if Iā€™m not mistaken, which means it could probably actually kill freedrock if he were to use that too much, if he can use it idk

I mean you can but always expect critique
sure some people will be assholes, but youā€™re really just playing into them if you give up

you could use magic with curses in online fighting I think albeit not completely sure

we donā€™t really know shit about him frankly
though I assume if he could use primitive magic itā€™d still ā€œdamageā€ him as Iā€™m pretty sure it affects the soul

yeah
hopefully we learn more about him in ao

doubt we would given he was present in the seven seas
while its probably possible for him to have moved to the war seas, itā€™d be unlikely

no not like that

I mean maybe it writing that mentions him or something similar to that, since heā€™s an unknown and was around when the gods fell Iā€™m pretty sure

Nobody:

Level: and so I started arguing

Mutations take up a mind, curses literally make you one with it so I assumed it would take up your minds

Someone born in Ianā€™s Cross and the og owner of the Durandal not knowing primitive magic is unlikely.

Heā€™s died like 500 times, I donā€™t think heā€™s that scared of damages and curse users have no natural aging

POV: You made a topic and now it has 52 comments of people furiously quoting each other and malding about every single lore inconsistency

well then idk why he doesnā€™t use magic

whats ianā€™s cross

It used the soul but if it mattered that much, I think Torren wouldā€™ve been long dead before even getting darkflame, also Iā€™m pretty sure one of the tolls were lifespan which Freedrock wouldnā€™t have to worry about

I find it a weird coincidence that the OG place or whatever is called Ianā€™s cross as my name is Ian. Other than that, Ian means John in Scottish, and also means ā€œThe lord is graciousā€ in Scottish.

shortened lifespan could just be a side effect of the soul being overexerted or whatever, I donā€™t think even a curse user could use it randomly with no consequences

I think the consequences wouldnā€™t matter since he can just come back to life

to an extent yes
we donā€™t really know shit about primitive magic
