TL;DR - im woke, so we dont call an artstyl ‘ugly’ we call it ‘unique’ / ‘personal’ / ‘not my cup of tea’
Call me woke, but ANY artstyle (by that i mean all forms of expression - static 2d or 3d, animation, modeling etc) is good.
Sure, it very specific, but thats the beauty of it. Each artstyle is the byproduct of the author’s expiriences and views on things. You dont have to like it or say that its awful, ive seen some weird artstyles but thats it, they are weird and unique to the point that you, a person who doesnt like it, dont understand peopl who like it.
Not all artists have distinct artsyles, which is okay as well, but evne then they still have some parts that is uniquely theirs. Maybe its how they shade, how they do blooms, how they do backgrounds, how they smooth animations.
The first example that comes to my mind is @LittleRedhoodd from twitter. If you seen their style at least once, you will instantly know its them, even on less or more exgaturated faces. My friend says that they feel uncanny valley looking at their works. Does that mak an artstyle ugly? To them maybe, but its not, its just uniqu.
