Logically speaking, if the omen cant swipe or slam the player because they are too far, why can it punch?

Other than that, 10/10

Slam or swipe are meant to hit near the ground level and be a large AoE attack. If the player is high above the sea, then a large AoE attack doesn’t make as much sense, and might also cause some issues.
Slam and swipe also have the tentacle bend near the sea and would make for a bit awkward attack. The punch, provided the player isn’t above the height of the tentacle which should be ensured by the arena, would have the tentacle bend much higher above the sea.

Literally, i dont know whats the deal with this people complaining about high damage atacks when atlanteans in those layers alredy kick your ass hard. Anyways thanks for such a beautifull suggestion. Such a gem :gem_stone:

Correct, I wanted to make the fight still doable without beast defense, though there’s not really a workaround due to the extent of the effect. Also, vetex said it’s meant to be a boss for way later in the game…

Yk octopodes usually don’t get tentacles 100 meters long and agressively sink ships

cool suggestion, but add a long cooldown to crushing grip maybe

Crushing grip exists to force the players who enter the arena against the warnings of their quartermasters to fight the Omen or die trying.
Since the tentacle retracts soon after you leave the wheel, the message is supposed to be clear: leaving is not an option, trying to do so will just cause your ship to be sunk.

This might result in a potential instakill, if you get blasted into water and stuck under a shipwreck. Does it really need the ragdoll? If by “ragdoll” you meant “a stun similar to one applied by animals”, then its fine.

Are you REALLY sure that is a good idea? Is fighting the Omen supposed to be an airstall check?

Won’t this result into Allanon’s grab 2.0?

So, the more you fight and make the Omen miss their swings and slams, the more damage you’re accumulating on its Rubble Throw attack? This doesn’t seem fair, why not let it take a consistent amount of rubble from the overall pool instead of half?

So, half of your HP is gone when you touch water, unless you got a regen build to heal all that back? Your damage numbers are kind of overtuned, no?

Now that is a great idea to combat Strenght’s low pve capabilities, I respect that.

Fair.

I know, but they aren’t doing one-shot damage unless they charge up their ult art metal explosion. Animals are even less punishing to get hit by.

I’m referring to the stun.

It’s more of a reflex check. There are plenty of skills you can use to lift yourself above the swipe before it hits and stay up, such as tall jump attacks and gliders. Even if you are hit, there are still many moves in the game that let you reach the shore easily.

First you don’t like airstalling, now you dislike the attack meant to counter it.
The area of attack is meant to be quite avoidable due to the startup. It should be quite apparent that, when the tentacle starts curling, it’s about to attack.
A potential workaround could be a damage decrease the farther you are away from the center of the attack.

This one is fair, though rubble is formed whenever an attack breaks shipwrecks, including when the player’s hit. A tradeoff could be made to where the attack has a set amount of charge, but higher amounts of rubble increase the frequency of the attack.

Well considering normal Kraken water can kill you under 10 seconds, I think giving the player 40 seconds to chug a health potion is more than fair.
Do note that 40 seconds also only apply if the player is in the water for 20 seconds and gets out, the poison taking another 20 seconds to tick down.

Compassion towards lower lifeforms is yet another of Mages’ innumerable virtues, such as humility.

For that, the dumb requirement of “you can’t use the glider if you miss any air movement charges” should be removed. Charging a high jump takes too much time to avoid that attack, and Leap isn’t accessible to everyone.

I dislike it, but I view it as the optimal may to combat an enemy with high-damaging, but grounded attacks. Its like the Darkness talent - it is optimal for treasure charting, but I dislike it a lot.

Aight. Just, don’t make it an instakill.

Great idea. Could let the player take a breather from constant dodging of floor sweeps and let them dodge something more familiar - a straight-flying projectile, even if there are many of them.

You took normal Kraken’s ink as a baseline? This thing itself should have been nerfed, not have anything based off of it! Besides, that health potion barely heals, even a tier 5 elixir, made in Hermes’s cauldron, will reach at most 40% of your health.

Hey, you didn’t just took one of Spirit followers’ traits and wrongfully claimed it as your own! We all remember what you were saying in the Update Discussion thread! You have never had respect for Strenght and Weapons before - I had!

As for humility - neither of us can claim that one

Only thing I think could be adjusted is falling into the sea doing half your health at minimum. I’d reduce it more to only 25% once you actually get out, cause it seems a bit too punishing for something admittedly very easy to do if you undershoot a jump.

now if only vetex added cool things :sob:

Well, it is called “Omen fight rework”, not “Kraken ink rework”

Yeah so special cauldrons literally have no effect on healing and harming potions since those don’t have durations.

If it requires so, you’re well allowed to mention the ink’s damage decrease.

They do still uncrease potency for those, no?

Potency is the duration of the potion’s effect. For healing potions, it might well just increase healblock duration.

yes please

I surely remember higher potency increasing the healing amount, need to fact check that

Why do people just put 5 stars on all three categories blindly and leave the reply empty? Do they not have any complaints at all with the suggestion? Have they even bothered reading through it? What is the point of rating something you haven’t even read?
