My problem with diving points and underwater structures is twofold; the amount of effort you have to put in is insane for how small the reward is.
The amount of sharks that spawn will obviously be reduced a lot, but fighting sharks in general is a pain, attachments are laughably bad at actually hitting them considering they’re always 50 feet below the water where you cant even see them, so you have to just fight them yourself, which is an extreme chore if you use a fighting style or heat magic(which I of course happen to use both).
Also the sea urchins are basically invisible half the time and do WAY too much damage, seriously a single urchin does around 600 in total with the poison, and you can get pushed into them by a surprise shark you didn’t know existed until you started looting because it was too far from the surface, leading to a basically guaranteed death
And of course your reward for all that effort is nowhere near worth it. Diving points take a few minutes with the sharks and a couple more with the looting and offer 6 or so chests and 1-2 sealed chests, something I can just go sink a pirate ship for and not run the risk of dying to a shark or sea urchin, and underwater structures take closer to 10-20 minutes depending on the sharks, how many laps I need to do for air and its size, with a grandiose reward of around 10-25 chests and 2-4 sealed depending on how thorough I want to be at the cost of my time. I can still just go sink a fortified ship with far less risk and get basically the same reward, or go do a couple island runs and get twice as many chests in half the time.
smart savants only go in the 3 stats that actually matter.
calvus tried to be something more than a savant, he tried being what you may call a god, but that’s ultimately what lead to his defeat, he couldn’t appreciate and refine the already wide set skills he had already learned, he had to have more and more
calvus isn’t a savant, he’s a greedy, genocidal bastard.
Sunny is normally a nice guy, but sunny would show zero, ZERO mercy killing calvus, he brings shame to our people, to our build. SHAME I SAY!
see people often believe in the misnomer that savants want to be good in everything, when in reality, savants often stick with several things in their toolkit and refine them. Sure they have more than other builds, but they aren’t all about quantity.
This balance would make Thanos cringe, i mean, I supported a pulsar nerf, heck aoe could of used a nerf and especially some of the magic classes. But instead, they just gutted Magic altogether, and buffed the other classes which pretty much made warrior the new meta, at this point, just rename the game to Blades Odyssey because mage is now the worst pure class in the game now. You might as well just remove magic from the game and force everyone to be a warrior at this point.
And gosh dam, just get a Balancing team instead of listening to the community, that would be a way better option, and as Vetex said so himself when talking to members of his community.
Pretty boring update, I wasn’t expecting much in the first place though I still got underwhelmed, for me I’m probably not gonna play much after getting all the event stuff on my files
The performance and the minor pvp balancing stuff is nice tho Ig
I’m liking everything that got added except getting jumped by the shark mafia everytime i try to go under water, but that will probably get fixed so it’s mostly fine (except for the waste of water breathing potions and the bug that happens when you get murdered by said shark mafia)
Diving spots and structures are really cool, I like them a lot and keep getting sidetracked by them cause of how interesting they are
servers shutting down after 12 hours + server timer, I hope this helps with lag for now
finding out the easter eggs was pretty fun to do, I only have a few more to get but I’m pretty lazy so I’ll do it later
I like the brewing system, it’s pretty simple & convenient and the water breathing potions make underwater situations a lot easier
Things I didn’t like:
The amount of sharks now is pretty over-the-top, imo it heavily hinders the experience of diving points since in most situations there are too many sharks to have a reasonable chance against (in a magma warlock so I stand no chance in an underwater fight)
Ship attachments look and feel cool, but my harpoons do 38 damage per throw which is underwhelming imo. They also don’t feel viable, in my experience sharks hardly surface for long enough to get throws in (even with the reworked AI). With my moves I’m doing like 200-300 per hit, so it’s pretty unfortunate that fighting them normally isn’t rewarded as much as fighting with attachments is
A few bugs such as the post-death purgatory bug, but hopefully they’re patched up soon
Exploring underwater structures and ruins is so beautiful, so long as you get rid of the sharks. Love the changes to shark agro, and the Easter event is fun, and fair enough.
I’d say for a first update it’s pretty good! We didn’t get much content really but lots of QoL features and some fixes to the server lag (from my experience)
I do hope that in the next update we will get more actual content tho.
the diving spots, increased air, better shark ai, free stat reset, and egg hunt have all been VERY fun. it was an amazing idea to add the water breathing potions in with this update. the servers restarting every 12 hours is SUPER nice as well
I think the balance changes are probably good, I never fought anyone with pulsar before the update but I trust the people who made the balance doc
my only gripe is the low visibility in water and how hard that makes it to find all the chests in underwater structures. I have no fuckin clue how people have gotten
the deep sea diver title already, I couldn’t even complete a single spot with a tier 3 10 minute water breathing and invigoration 4. might be a skill issue ig
Shark hunting attachments were a good idea on paper, with new shark AI to make the easier to hit.
In practice, no. For reasons you e already said, the shark hunting attachments fail because the damage sucks firstly, but with how many sharks there are running around it’s still easy enough to get the drops from them.
I chose what I did as an a primary PvE player. I suffer from being spawn ganked a ton and I could barely run away with my 20 fps and 400 ping. Now with the new exhaustion system, I might as well stand still. The fact he wants to tie the majority of the renown gain system to PvP also sucks. There’s other reasons but this is a big one for me, as I legitimately cannot PvP even if I want to.
A new and less efficient way to get loot that everybody already has!!! But wait there’s more! A silly little Easter event that can be completed in under an hour. Definitely great update for the multiple months we waited for it!!!
