Optimization Update Patch Notes (Discussion Thread)

also this question states “dragonlords AND mythical dragons”
i mean its probably just the question but like, they ARE the same thing right?
the blurred patreon image shows “mythical dragons” and they are clearly the ones with the dev magics

I think mythical dragons are raid bosses and dragon lords are stronger versions of those

they are different things but im not 100% sure what the difference is, i think dragon lords are a little stronger and some can be mutated by the dark sea

Because hosting game balance discussion in a server oriented around PvP for a game that is mainly meant for PvE is apparently a good idea

what if a dragon lord is a boss of other dragons

multiple dragons at once

AO has always balanced around PvP and not pve and I think it’s too ingrained to even try fighting

it’s forcefully engrained.
Vetex has stated he does not want PvP, but it’s the sole reason the game isn’t absolutely dead.
He hates it.

He hates pvp yet always had pvp balance the game. Even early EA it was pvp that balanced the game. The best way would be to separate the two (like a certain other game) but I dunno why vetex refuses such

We could balance them if we had some kind of separate location that’s used specifically for PvP… oh well, I guess that doesn’t exist.

Or just separate the 2. Deep’s balance is literally separated between pve and pvp. Damage and such change if you’re in pve or pvp combat but :woman_shrugging:

If only we had like a specific island or server that was designed for fighting

No offense to Vetex, but it’s likely his code is so spaghetti you can’t apply changes in real-time.

Probably

If only indeed. And if only both seas had an island like that and not just bronze.

Wouldn’t be surprised if a large chunk of the game still relied on WoM’s code

It probably does. Like I imagine magic does

That’s probably why every NPC is two booleans away from gaining sentience…

Say “I am alive.”

I am alive.

Oh my god.

when

is there like a channel for it

Yup! There should be one under the interactive section.
