Excited to see what they finally decide on how arcanium weapons will work. Though honestly I think they need to balance all imbues and enchants in the game to have diminishing returns when stacking multipliers of the same type as well as reducing the damage with size based on the total size increase of an attack and not just the gear stat. These two things would probably instantly nip the problem of savants, conjurers, and warlords being overpowered in the bud. If diminishing returns on certain stat multipliers absolutely guts some builds you could implement a hidden multiplier that gets bigger the higher you reach into the diminishing returns that increases all three multipliers just a little bit.
Realizing I probably could have made that a suggestion. Eh oh well. Plus in retrospect weapon hybrids are so overpowered because of how high their total multiplied stats can get spread across all multipliers already. Diminishing returns wouldnât 100% fix that. Meanwhile warlocks get worse size multipliers that Iâm convinced was done for no sound reason. Eh like anything in game dev itâs complicated.
If they work like they said in the qna (2 skills and 2 spells) then thereâs no need for stat nerf.
Also i donât think theyâll be like warlord weapons since theyâre all big (cuz colossal duh). Arcanium ones will probably have the average between the normal weapons stat and magic stat.
Again canât say anything yet we know almost nothing about them yet. I just hope theyâre fun
Conj owned the meta before and its argueable savants have with FR. Though with FR warlords have been, a bit of menace (I love the build week 1 and Iâll love it when it drops again). Though arcanium weapons are going move that ball to conj/savants but unlike warlords they have a good secondary magic instead of strength. Better imbues, better skills, better versatility. And savants⌠Arcanium strength weapons⌠itâs going be complete hell lol
Though yeah Iâm more afraid of the savant then conj. While conj going be a better warlord. Savant will have a triple stat weapon and that will be⌠insane
You see when they tried nerfing savants (the 60\60 split). They didnât care. It only affected warlords really. I donât think they can properly nerf savant without murdering another build
The 60/60 split, which was previously the over-nerfed 65/65 split showcases the balance team WILL do stupid decisions that wonât affect the build they want to nerf.
I donât believe they know of an alternative balance change, as the split is significantly easier than thinking.
I think the 60/60 was fine (warlords were just flat out better warriors) though if I recall their intent were at savants. And savants shrugged it off unaffected. You try nerfing their imbues? You hurt the hybrid that uses them. Itâs kinda hard to the nerf the class that gimmick is stealing everyone elseâs things
Agreed, but they only made it 60/60 after the heavy backlash from the 65/65 split.
Their intent was fully savants, as per the Savant Lords being far too strong.
They have to think especially long about nerfing an entire build, as applying a higher split is outright a lazy solution in most cases, some even detrimental to something you never intended to target.
I donât think arcanium weapons would be all that stat wise. I think they will give conj access to higher tier skills and extra spells customisation thatâs it.
Plus it gives conj the hybrid scaling the thing that makes berserkers so good but instead of strength uses magic which is. Objectively better plus the better imbued stats and/or statuses that magic bring
They will be altered but i donât think theyâll be as strong as warlord ones. Also they wonât do bleeding only the magics status effect so you lose any synergies.
I think their true gimmick is magic sloting not the stats
