Boy! Another worthless “immersion” feature that’ll only be an annoyance!

Repair kits are either going to make this feature irrelevant or make it just as annoying as it sounds depending on how many you can buy in bulk from armorers. This seems to be yet another drachma sink, as the higher end builds will cost something like 5-10k to repair if all items are damaged.

This + % damage (IIRC they have attacks that do this) is gonna make dragon hunting so fucking annoying.

i remember very distinctly my criticisms on beast defense, the fact that it forces you to wear stupid ugly vanity on your character in order for optimal performance just in case someone wasn’t feeling immersed enough. not only has it not been changed in the slightest, it’s been made even worse… because now if you don’t wear it, your items will literally fucking degrade in fights against powerful dragons faster. wtf is this?? your build gets annihilated if you want to fight dragons and you’re not rich enough??

it might not be that bad and might even end up as an interesting challenge if you take too much damage in a dragon fight with an abundance of armor repair kits (although honestly i have my reservations about that since npcs have stock and these will sell like fucking wildfire), but the fact that this probably exists because ‘powerful physical attacks’ should realistically damage your armor is kind of just depressing. not to mention how much worse this is for ppl with exotic/sunken armor

the only thing that can redeem this god awful mechanic is a drawback enchant that makes it so you have overall less defense but the more damage your armored is the higher the stats of it is.

Vetex can you please stop making horrid choices that act as artificial difficulty

this artificial difficulty boost also acts as a drachma sink at the same time with no justification for it

also what happens if you take 90%~ of the built up damage and then you kill the thing, is the damage just going to stay like that till you get hit a single additional time and have your stuff broken on the first hit you take in the next battle, or is it able to recover on it’s own? If it can would it only happen outside of combat or within to atleast make it ever so minuscule less atrocious

arcanium and weapons in general will now also degrade

oh? “how am i supposed to fight when my combat method are all fucked!?” too bad m8, should have gone magic

god its going to be hell to manage repair kits + the already annoying water poisoning in the deeper areas of the dark sea simultaniously while fighting these fuckass powerful dragons

Oh my goodness, the entire concept of this feature is a nothingburger in terms of positive gameplay. You are telling that I not only have to keep track of a murderbeast and water poisoning in the dark sea, I get needlessly punished by breaking my shit when I get inevitably mauled. At this point, I rather just be oneshotted and I would considered that fair

Yes not because of Roblox or whatever but because changes like this actively running the game into the ground. Vetex wants us to explore but now we’re actively punished for doing so. Also people don’t forget all these physical attacks do %dng so getting more defense means NOTHING!

If only AO’s gameplay was left in the hands of moochezz while vetex was strictly there for writing

The only stat worth anything after this is only power just to kill fuckers faster then they will break your armor

I am actually baffled at this point. I know this feature is going to be set in stone despite inevitable tester objections. Dragons are already hard, it doesn’t need to be ballbustingly hard

Yes let’s make the %based attacks break armor on top of things! Yes this is a brilliant idea! So if they managed to survive enough hits their armor is ruined!
