Im down for having their bounty be displayed in the agora, but not being able to hunt them from it
(might’ve been a miscommunication here, my intention was the newspaper giving the same information as the bounty board, definitely no highlighting of players)
apart from that i don’t think taking a bounty from the newspaper instead of going to a board is too gamebreaking since you’d be getting the same (usually inaccurate/outdated) information either way so i felt that all it was really doing is saving you a couple minutes, but i haven’t bounty hunted in a minute so maybe i’m wrong on that lol
that’s a fair point, i assume a lot of solo players join factions specifically for that feature and nothing else, so giving every player that feature could theoretically mean less navy/assassin players overall so i think i see why but i think despite that i’m still in the camp of giving every player that feature anyway since (imo) it’s nothing insane and more of a time save then anything
if they really wanted to give navy/assassin players more incentives to join they could give them a slight rep increase/monetary reward instead of a qol feature
would there really be a noticeable difference between this and a player who already has your bounty poster? or them just taking a 20 second detour to grab it since there are boards everywhere? the situation didn’t seem too different in my head
If my boat isn’t damaged, I could escape in 20 seconds easily
which is fair enough but if someone’s goal is to bounty hunt you they’d already have your poster either way, meaning the situation would be identical right?

really? i didn’t notice that lol, but even then imo not much of a difference from getting a heads up 20 minutes before you get jumped compared to getting it when someone’s right behind you, since when you have a bounty you basically assume it’s on sight with bounty hunters/any faction members anyway
a notification when someone hunts you seems like it’d lead to a lot of pre combat logging regardless, doesn’t sound like a good idea to me in the first place
I got bounty hunted with only 4000 bounty, by a fellow bad rep. Why would I want to not even be able to go near anyone without the risk of being bounty hunted
bounty or not getting into fights with randoms is inevitable lol

idk to me that seems like a weird thing to complain about in a game like this i think that’s again something that you should expect to happen sooner or later
bad suggestion. I’m ok with being bounty hunted if I’m given the chance to struggle and I fail, but with this, you could just surprise bounty hunt someone. No one with high renown would want to be near other people
imo i still think knowing when someone is hunting a bounty would just lead to instant logs as soon as someone realizes they’re being hunted (like if they get a notification for it like you said) don’t really think ‘‘surprise bounty hunting’’ is really an issue as much as people being able to log to avoid any confrontation as soon as they get a notification
at the very least knowing when you get hit would help a ton
Sick visual mockup. Lets you take bounties on the fly, adding to the convenience of bounty hunting, and gives you more of a reason to read the Agora. Great suggestion.
