Maybe I’m just being nitpicky, but I’m more concerned about how Vetex would incorporate islands into the lore. The lore of the arcane universe was actually pretty well written and interesting in my opinion.
As the lore goes, The Player (From AA) created the continent of Magius after he/she defeated Durza + Hades and destroyed all the sea curses. All the surviving people who formerly lived on islands migrated to Magius to settle. In WoM, over 1,000 years have passed with generations of people living on Magius and Magius only.
If Vetex were to add in islands, he would have to reshape the arcane lore. He would have to rewrite the lore from the moment after The Peacekeeper killed hades. If Magius didn’t exist and the world was still just a bunch of islands, a bunch of the lore all would have to be rewritten. And… Deleting and rewriting LORE after years of it being legit is not really something you can easily do without messing something up or creating plotlines that don’t add up.

Just look at Asia. The stupid clusterfuck of islands and land are still regarded as a continent.
I would personally prefer if Magius were the biggest island and there were some medium sized islands and even more tiny ones.
But I don’t actually care that much about the map, so I’m fine with anything as long as it isn’t a downgrade from what we have now.
personally I think islands would be pretty nice, not small ones though, big ones like four main islands.
a change to the lore could possibly be
“the powerful wizard (insert name here) decided to break apart magius”
then in addition to the 4 islands representing a broken up magius there could be a few smaller islands around maybe with chests
all that i think is that along with the main island we should be able to travel back to the ruins of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sea. Just imagine being able to walk into the old AG bases and the old islands we all know and love. Just having those memories from AA.
