I just used GIMP and either recoloured the icons or applied a gradient manually by using colour-select tools to get rid of the icon’s glow effect (just removing the semi-transparent colours), then invert selection to outline the icon, use gradient tool, then duplicate the layer and apply a gaussian blur to the layer underneath (to restore the glow effect).
