I thought it’d be fun to double down and check on my current predictions at the start of this year. It’s been quite a ride.
To start:
1. Dragons update = 5/02/2026 (Q2 of 2026)
2. Partial Arcanium weapons = 5/02/2026 (Q2 of 2026)
3. Optimization update = 05/24/2026 (Q2 of 2026)
Now, by the looks of everything, we’re doing pretty well. It did take over 4 months to just get the dragons/partial arcanium weapons out by the end of Q2, but delays do happen. The reason it’s called “Partial” arcanium weapons, is because that there’s only roughly 7 out of the over 20+ modeled arcanium weapons that are fully functional.
About future predictions:
I am a optimistic man when it comes to AO. I do believe that AO will reach the rest of my old predictions (Ch.10-11, another dark sea update, frigate, etc.) albeit, a bit delayed. However, I am a little worried. Vetex did hire a new developer (riptidemamba) which ended in a horrible drama situation that I’m not gonna cover here. The reason for my worry is that Vetex is less likely to not hire any newcomers because of the still recent drama situation.
Why does this matter? This means that Vetex is still mostly by himself, with Moochezz busy with school and a job. It also means a smaller chance a new developer joins the team due to Vetex’s skepticism and fear of what happened with ript.
Galaga/Partcline: Less likely to come back as full-time developers, both are heavily pre-occupied with school/work. Galaga did mention a new event being planned. Sources were from the main AO discord. I would predict it’s another winter event that they’re working on.
Current rest of 2026 predictions:
- Chapter 10 → Q3 of 2026
- Chapter 11 → Q4 of 2026
- Some dark sea specifics being Satyrs, Siren Queen quest, dark sea diving, etc. → Q4 of 2026
- Frigate → Q4 of 2026 or Q1 of 2027
- AoE Global downscaling → Q3 of 2026 (Sometime in June)
- Rainspire → Q4 of 2026
- Rest of Arcanium weapons/Cestus Weapons start → Q4 of 2026 or Q1 of 2027
Let’s hope that all continues and AO still remains true to it’s nature. I love to see AO content as much as anyone else would. Thank you for reading.

I’m just curious, why don’t Vetex and moochezz try getting more devs? I’d assume it’s probably wanting to not need to deal with any drama

I’d say the Frigate is actually decently likely to come with Chapter 10.
Why you may ask?
It’s said we get it at level 180, and theres absolutely no way 2 boss fights (which is what Chapt. 10 has been said to be) gives us any less than 5 levels, which will put us at the exact level needed to get it.

Yeah, it makes me sad that AO hasn’t gotten the help that it needs. All the new developers that’ve joined in 2026 (so far) have been fired almost immediately for something drama related. 
they still could, they just need to get a better vetting process for potential hires
it should be treated like a proper job interview and not… what ever they do now
Development is gonna pause sometime in august and will never start again leaving the big 'cane abandoned forever, vetex will start making money by selling belly button pics
if that happens we should atleast get uncapped ao like wom for shits and giggles. Release it now even, would be a funny way to test scaling
So AO development is still a dumpster fire. The day AO finally finds good-hearted, worthy devs is the day that the Covenant or some shit is gonna pull up to Earth

If that happened, I would spontaneously combust. I just hope that down the line they’re able to find some more devs who won’t be causing any drama
I know this is a shitpost, but with roblox rolling out age verification, I do think that the end of development an a level uncap as the game has become a ghost town is definitely a possibility
