I feel like uppercut and array should be 170 str/magic, reasoning being array moreso like a modifed blast while uppercut is like a modifed crash, and should be easier to learn. Having it at 170 for both would also make it accessible for hybrids after a small level cap increase, but not without heavily focusing into it
uppercut is also complete dogwater
I like it for being cool at least ;-;
Uppercut doing abysmal damage and putting your target out of reach
Uppercut should have been 150 not 240, I’m pretty confused on that
genuine question, when you use uppercut and throw your enemy upwards, does he get stunlocked until he falls or do you straight up just give him an advantage?
it’s so sick when it works but it only works on Ravenna ensigns
they get stunlocked as they get knocked up
honestly after the buffs the skill is extremely good for certain scenarios/combos (it’s great for leading up a shot/axe slash/crash and is the perfect counter for when you get grabbed). If it worked fully, it would definitely be an S tier skill
I’m over here starving while weapon builds get a snack
can confirm: its yumby
usually u can dodge to the side and get a shot or shockwave smash in after from my experience, especially on npcs but sometimes on players
theyre stunned during the duration of the uppercut though
Savant here
Jokes on you, I didn’t even unlock any rare spells/techniques
You used to be able to
Yea it’s good for some spells to be pure build exclusive, but rare techinques/spells shouldn’t ALL be pure build exclusive, especially at this point in the story where the level cap is 140. I think from this point on Vetex should add level 30+ techniques/spells for hybrid builds. It wouldn’t hurt and pure builds have been getting all the good stuff for over a year now (Arcanium weapons…please)
Like I don’t even get why a rare spell like JAVELIN has such high requirements, imo it should be level 50+
Surge makes sense and I guess pulsar too
Uppercut? Eh idk
People go hybrid builds because they’re hybrid, using two different playstyles they like and mashing them together, not everyone wants to use a pure build just to use rare techniques/spells…
My Warlord is saved omg!!! Wait shit nvm will need 160 weapons
mine is 150s/130w right now
Hybrids (ESPECIALLY conjurer) benefit from being a hybrid a lot more. The benefits of hybrids outweigh the current limitations they have.
Synergies they get every hit, and conjurers can costumize their abilities + increase their stats further with weapons.
Pure builds don’t get these luxuries, they have to invest all of their stats into one stat. Mages have to keep cycling between magics to get synergies (the second magic has horrible tiers rn anyway) and berserkers don’t get any of those benefits.
Just wait it out
A solid argument if not for a single fact many seem to forget constantly in these discussions.
Any new spell or technique that is hybrid accessible will be easily accessible to the full build as well. No only that, but because it is hybrid accessible, in all likelihood, the pure builds will have higher tiered version of the moves.
“Synergies & imbues” is a lackluster excuse as to why magic/strength Hybrids have to be starved of any new content. I don’t care about meta, or balance, I care that on Warlock, you can only actively use 1 of the current 6 rare abilities. I’m not asking for every single existing spell to be brought down to hybrid use, but I am asking that spells and techniques in the near future be made with hybrid/savant accessibility. It’s very grating to just not be able to enjoy any sort of variety for the sake of pumping up two existing classes.
is 90 base weapon stat the same as flying phoenix and sparrow thrust?
i play conjurer, and it does suck to not have all the flashy new moves, i’ll admit.
but please remember that when you signed up to play hybrids you basically agreed to not have your first option and second option be as strong in return to use them both, and yes this applies to new skills. you won’t get them immediately, because when you made your class choice you knew you wouldn’t have access to these skills. this is the tradeoff you make for playing a hybrid build. access to more things, for less mastery in them.
and at any rate, why should i play a pure build when it has literally nothing unique for me? okay, sure, i would get higher tiers, which is just making them… more flashy? why do i care? the only benefits of playing pure builds then is… slightly more damage and size.
and sure, you might bring up something like second magic. but please give me someone who uses their second magic for anything other than applying a status effect. no one. the requirements are too high for skills on it other than like javelin and the tiers are lower, making it objectively a worse option. then there’s warrior aura, i guess, but that’s not a particularly fun awakening either; it’s what, more size and flashier vfx? and i can’t really speak for berserker second fs, but i’ve heard that isn’t all too glamorous either.
i do think it kind of sucks how far apart the abilities are, though, but maybe i’m biased in that perspective since i play 120m-160w, which is inherently low magic invest, therefore unlocking spells later. i’m sure with galaga taking the reins on making new spells/techniques/weapon skills that we’ll have more skills added, possibly in the gaps that there aren’t any right now. it is in early access after all, and this is a valid reason to use that cop-out
so yes, it sucks to be restricted. but then again, that’s what you agreed to, and without those restrictions there is no reason to play pure builds
