Let’s say I’m joining a player who’s on the top bounty board, would that be against the rules since I joined solely to hunt a top player?
Depends on how many times you teleport to him.
Teleporting to his game a few times to kill him is fine.
It’s when you start dedicating your time into constantly joining them and making sure they aren’t able to play without fighting.
Just carry love potions on you

I agree, even if everyone says this is a bad suggestion. I REALLY don’t like PVP, mainly because of my skill issue to a point where it isn’t fun, sure, you can avoid confrontations, but being a runner isn’t an option since the “exhausted” feature, where you can’t really avoid confrontations on ground, keeping your fame/bounty low it’s not really an option since you need it for Deckhands, being hunted can be really annoying, and you can’t just log out because (obviously) of the combat logged feature. PVP may be a main playing style, but that’s all, a playing style and not everyone has to be forced to become better at it, sometimes someone just wants to PvE, farm bosses and such without the pressure of someone randomly coming out of nowhere and oblitirate you, you can’t avoid PVP in AO, and basically all roblox rpgs out there, there’s no safe zone, and even if it had, it just wouldn’t be enough. However, Vetex probably won’t add this option, since… well, it’s still a core mechanic, optional tho. Even so, i hope Vetex thinks of a way to avoid PvP more efficiently
i’ll just quickly reiterate my suggestions when dealing w/ combat. the 4th option is somewhat still around but the exhaustion feature later down the line will make it a null option.
there’s also to add onto a 5 and potentially 6th being:
-
don’t have more than 100k renown
a. this can also be extended to not having renown at all. don’t wanna be hunted anymore but still want deck hands? silently grind up the deckhands you want and then reset ur renown back to neutral. -
island hopping
a. as pointed out in the " PvP disable option (in settings)" by someone in the thread constantly island hopping a bit. it will be a pain to track you down and doesn’t affect you much if at all.
(that one syndicate member my clanmates and allies we were hunting down that one time is a prime example of being a pain) (plus ur supposed to be doing this anyways, you cannot tell me ur staying on one island only and not fishing, pvping, or being really adamant on that treasure chart.)
probably missed some other points, but dying in ao is nigh inconsequential, especially when comparing itself to dw and rogue which i transitioned from over the past few years since there wasn’t too much to do on roblox that i wasn’t already doing.
refer to these 6 depending on ur mood and ways of avoiding being hunted. some instances are obviously gonna sting a bit like losing galleons (its -350 at max and only sting if ur upgrading/enchanting) or doing cargo runs but nothing you wont bounce back from within half an hour (ftmp, filling your ketch entirely of cargo, which is asking for a huge loss on your part tbf, is gonna leave a mark for a while.)
adding a pvp toggle isn’t fitting like others have said. some complaints about combat are reasonable, being join targeted or spawned killed isn’t fun. but it doesn’t mean that the above options and more aren’t there to help prevent, combat, or solve the issues you have ;-;
skill issue
Just leave if someone’s bothering you and don’t want to fight lol.
It’s not that hard. If your pissed about being killed and not wanting to leave then go practice PvP then.
ANOTHER ONE
CLOWN THEM
pvp is inherent in this game
skill issue
But that means you can infinitely kill gravy people at neutral and never get notoriety
yeah but there’d be no point to doing that since you wouldn’t get rep or exp or galleons
stfu
the game isn’t big enough for a pvp toggle, it works for games like blox fruits because there’s always someone else to fight
if you don’t want to fight then just leave the game or reset, it’s not that hard. If you don’t want to lose galleons, create a bank file and bank your galleons.
if you did that in AO, where actually finding your bounty, and then catching your bounty is way more difficult than in blox fruits where once you find your bounty as long as you remember your combo their dead, it would make a ton of players actually QUIT.
Just imagine hunting someone for 30 minutes, you finally find them, and then you realize they have PVP off. That’d be so annoying, especially because it’s actually not that hard to run away from a fight(in my experience when the one im hunting starts running i almost never catch them)
Well, I think theres a couple points to consider here. For example, perhaps I or whatever player who isnt all that into pvp probably doesnt have a good build. And they might be on Ravenna due to grinding Calvus or Carina for some power gear or weapons. Last time i played with my plasma conjurer, which I just maxed out, I was utterly out dps’d by an explosion mage due to my lack of power. And while i did have decent health, the attack size stats that the mage had was enough to allow him to keep dealing damage to me, whilist i struggled to land hits. Luckily he wasnt dead set on killing me, though. He was pretty chill. But if i was in a bad situation where he DID want to keep killing me, I would have to take time away from farming Calvus, which is boring and unfulfulling enough as it is. And a small thing, but you need fame for deckhands, like a ridiculous amount of fame. Thats a feature that you just never get to experience due to gankers or rkers. Los sounds like a good way to avoid that, though.
jesus christ all hell broke loose over here
cmon, this is the guy’s first post…couldn’t you go a little bit easier on him?
Your argument is horrible because if you were skilled you could have won. If you don’t train in PVP don’t expect to win any fights.
However, I don’t like that higher level players can easily hunt lower levels. I once went ganking as a level 75, fighting players within a -10 and +10 level range. I beat up a light mage, level 68, and he called 3 LVL 125 conjurors on me. Sure, it’s my fault for picking a fight with that dude, but seriously, 3 level 125 players?
FOR ONE LEVEL 75? Now that, that is absolute clownery.
ngl this made me cringe a little
