Submit characters in AO for me to rank. I’ll add them to the list with an explanation on why I like/dislike them. Any character counts, named or unnamed.
S Tier: Elysium
– Best characters in the game –
General Argos, The Lion of Old Ravenna
A seven foot, dual strength weapon wielding beast. General Argos, The Lion of Old Ravenna. In his old age he still posed a huge threat to the MC, and in his prime it is no doubt that our corpse would have been vaporized by his strength and our souls sent to the Seven Seas. Insane character, 111/10
Edward Kenton, The Exiled Captain
Quiet, Stoic, Sensible. Edward Kenton has seen many things in life. But he’s always there for the MC, giving live reports on the situation on the ship. Never cracks under pressure. Which is why when you see him panic, you know you’re not returning to the Bronze Sea.
Neviro, Lost Heir
Torn from his family, destined for power or destined for death?
The spearmaster with a tongue of gold, silver and platinum. Will charisma check through half the story in no time - whilst holding the legacy of Winterveil on his shoulders. Good motives, good journal.
A Tier
– Great characters, like them a lot –
Iris the Anomaly
Ignoring the whole CoI and dating simulator thing, I think Iris is a well written character. She has motives, a clear progression of personality during the short section of the story we have, and is unique to say the least. Although some critics say her whole ‘angry personality’ thing was developed too fast, going back to the Frostmill arc you can see it was suggested from the start that she has a short temper.
Sirens
From a distance you hear the beautiful singing of women, but as you get closer and your brig crashes against the rocks, screams ring out and wings burst from their backs.
Although combat is annoying, they’ve got a good design, plenty of lore and are a degenerate magnet!
King Calvus Caeser, Fourth of His Name, Ruler of the Ravenna Realm and High Lord of the Order of Aesir
The King of Ravenna, loved by the people with dark secrets inside. Considering he is counted as extremely weak amongst the Order, possibly only a High Lord due to his political power, he still packed a punch when I fought him for the first times. Still packs a punch today without being careful.
Manipulated by the Order and went on to manipulate his people, a vicious tyrant or a kind king?
B Tier:
– Decent characters, can’t say much bad about them –
Enizor, The Visionary
Our good friend the alchemist, he’s got a mysterious past and unique mission however we don’t know much about his personality yet. However I do think that eventually he could turn for the worse as the search for immortality never goes well.
Mutated Atlantean
You find an island with a couple towers upon a high cliff, when climbing them you realise that within each tower is a huge, horrifically mutated being.
Can be cheesed with mage and assumably warrior, however nice design and oh god the claw mutateds
Lord Elius
Imagine this, you, little Timmy, have just started playing the epic rpg “Arcane Odyssey” by by vetexgames. You slap Shura, eviscerate Iris and make your way up to Cirrus Island.
However the (lightning conjurer) Lord Elius, is there waiting for you.
And oh, he’s making you’re life hell.
Funny bossfight. Hate the floor.
C Tier
– Alright characters. Neither good or bad ig. –
D Tier
– I’m not fond of them, but I’ll stand them. –
Lady Carina, Officer of the Order
I don’t really like her, she’s quite full of herself and has an annoying as hell boss fight, but her care for her brother at least puts her out of E tier.
E Tier
– Woah E tier moment. Characters I dislike. –
F Tier: Tartarus
– Its official, random forum goober #420,000 hates these characters –
