You can use lost spell scrolls on any magic as far as i’m aware, including base magics
so its not like an aether lighting meteor in a lightning magic
but a lightning magic meteor spell?

No, if you wanted an aether lightning meteor spell, then apply a meteor spell to aether lightning magic
so you can convert a base magic to a lost magic

by piecing together the information, you can make lost spells of base magics, and in doing so make all 8 spells of the base magic lost spells, and then you have a base magic with all lost spells
Sounds good to me, you can 100% do that
lost magics use base spells too

can’t wait to use a 20 beam attack with light magic and they just dodge every single one without 1 damage number popping out
and god forbid there be an npc with the skeleton roblox package + inferno magic as well as the dodging ability

To put it simply:
Lost spells will be usable with base magics and lost magics. (Possibly ancient magics but the description it pretty obscure)
Lost magics work the same way as base magics and use base spells (blast, explosion, beams etc) but are just rarer
