Honestly I was excited for the challenge of having to go through every boss with halved damage, but I get why the change was made.

Hybrid meta is approaching

I mean yeah, lacking abilities is a pretty big downside

Full Magic gets:
Blast
Explosion
Leap
Beam
Snare
Aura

Hybrid Magic gets:
Blast
Explosion
Leap
Beam
Snare

Full Strength gets:
Crash
Smash
Rushdown
Shot
Focus
Airstep

Hybrid Strength gets:
Crash
Smash
Rushdown
Shot

Full Weapons gets:
1st Skill
2nd Skill
3rd Skill (post-release, since there’s not enough time to implement the 3rd set of skills)

Hybrid Weapons gets:
1st Skill
2nd Skill

Barely a difference if you ask me. And hybrids probably won’t be lacking a lot of Rare Spells/Techniques either, since they’re obtainable as early as level 30 I’m thinking their stat requirement would be in the 60-120 range.

Plus you can mix and match skills, like warlocks and savants are the only builds that can mix Rushdowns and beam attacks with each other

The Shot technique is pretty much a beam attack isn’t it? Just shorter range.

There’s nothing wrong with have two beam attacks.

You are assuming hybrids go 50/50.

If a hybrid goes 60/40 with 60% being magic, they also get aura

Once you hit 150 Magic Level you become a Mage. It’s 60%

Mage is over 60%, not 60% or over
So mage would be 151 points in magic or more

It doesn’t say that here.

With this change won’t hybrids overshadow pure builds in the later in the game tho, when getting skills won’t be a problem anymore?

no, pure builds still have different awakenings, and there’ll probably still be skills with high enough requirements that they’ll be exclusive
