The Final Stand 2

Pros

  • Incredibly high skill ceiling, there is a LOT you can do in this game
  • Pretty big variability in difficulty, the difference of easy and nightmare is like day and night
  • Game is mostly based on skill and requires lots of time to master
  • Nigh-infinite perk choices, there are 121 total
  • An incredible amount of working strats
  • Actually hard on higher difficulties, winning feels GOOD
  • Gamepasses are good, but not mandatory to win. You can go F2P and have a blast.

Cons

  • Pretty hard to beat difficulties beyond hard if you are not at least a mid-level player, the learning curve is extremely steep
  • Requires teamwork, unless if you are playing in private servers with friends expect to die beyond hard
  • Some of the perks are pretty much useless, like backup weapon
  • Can get mildly grindy on higher difficulties

this game is my kind of game, so i personally rate it 9.5/10

if you like hard wave defense games that requires a good chunk of preplanning/use your brain, this is for you. however, this game isn’t for everyone

Assassins Creed Valhalla

I recently got the game about a month ago and have already spent 80 hours in it. I have mixed feelings over the game after coming from Odyssey, but I stand mostly positive on this game.

The Good:

  • Great semi historically accurate open-world map of England, Norway, and Vinland (America).
  • They nailed the setting and time period. But AC has always done that.
  • Combat is weighted, extremely versatile, and is easy to understand.
  • Being an Assassin is back, even though the main protag probably won’t become an actual Assassin till the DLC.
  • Assassin gameplay is actually fun and is a lot more complex than Odyssey.
  • The main character actually feels like a person that has goals, motivations, and beliefs.
  • The story is actually really well done if you know the lore. The writer for AC Valhalla was able to tie up the series in a nice bow, despite the modern-day story being bland for the past 2 games.
  • There is plenty of content to go through.
  • The soundtrack is AMAZING.

The bad:

  • Game is too long for a casual player or really anyone. The main story is about 60 hours, but it took me 80 hours (I even played arcs with the not recommended levels).
  • Ubisoft and their push for microtransactions make me sick. There are now just as many armor sets that you can buy with microtransactions as there are armor sets in the game. That’s a lot of content that you need TO BUY for an already 60-100$ game. And it’s going to get worse I reckon.
  • The bugs. Oh lord, the bugs! AC has not been this buggy since Unity. They have done some work to fix it, but the game still has some game-breaking bugs. I have not encountered many, but the ones I have are definitely a bit urksome.
  • Lack of Assassins in ASSASSINS CREED. This is really a matter of brand identity, but I kinda want to be an Assassin in an Assassin Creed game. I don’t want to play as some outsider who just “helps” some Assassins.
  • Lack of armor sets that fit the time period. I don’t know what is going on with the creative team. Literally, most of the armors in the game don’t really fit the times setting. Literally, 80% of the armors are HIGHLY FANTASY inspired and not at all Viking inspired. Not to mention the fact that when you upgrade the armors to their final appearance they are just laced with gold. The amount of gold is sickening tbh. I want armor that makes me feel like a Viking Assassins or heck even just a Viking. The only armors that I really like are the Brigadine set, Hidden Ones set, Mentor set, Magister set, and Raven Clan set. The rest are just too much.

still waiting for a rise of the dead review

Flood Escape 2

The good:

  • An absolute classic that somehow hasn’t had its concept stolen by numerous other games
  • Skill based parkour in maps that are designed around the ‘flood’ part of the game
  • Tons of map variety
  • Map difficulties are a very noticeable change
  • Absolutely amazing OST, I’m about 99% sure it actually is original too

The bad:

  • The difficulty jumps are absolutely insane. You go from easy being an absolute joke as it should be, to normal being relatively harder (as it should be), to hard being exponentially harder but tolerable, to insane being “holyshitholyshitholyshit” and I think they added a difficulty past insane recently but I forgot.

they did add a dificulty thats higher than insane
its called crazy

insane is not “holyshitholyshit”, that is simply a skill issue :smirk:

unironically though it is a skill issue :fr: roblox parkour has a massive skill ceiling

Compared to hard, it most certainly is.

The problem isn’t that the map is ‘too hard’ its just that players are never prepared for a difficulty jump that massive.

Mech Warzone / Overheat

The good:

  • Game was made by rachjumper so you already know the quality standards
  • Very large variety in weapons and playstyles
  • Tons of customization in both weapon/ability/mod builds aswell as cosmetic armor sets
  • Tons of unlockables
  • Fun gameplay
  • Developer that actually cares
  • Game gets updated very constantly with new content
  • The game has a nuke gun. It has a fucking nuke gun. That’s an instant 10/10.
  • Surprisingly non-toxic community
  • It has mechs. Well made mechs. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a roblox game do the ‘mech’ thing very well without basing the entire game around it.

Not much else to say, game is just generally good and fun to play

The bad:

  • Game is very unbalanced (slowly but surely being fixed)
  • Lots of weapons are locked behind incredibly high levels
  • Incredibly deceptive leveling system that enables players to level up insanely fast at first and then exponentially raises the requirements until it takes a full day worth of play time to level up once
  • If you’re level 100+ you’re never going to get into a duel with anybody who isn’t a moron or a level 100+.
  • One of the strongest weapons in the game requires you to kill a developer to obtain it.
  • The most recently added weapon requires 10 thousand kills to unlock, no other weapon is this stupid. I’ve played this game for more hours than I’m willing to count and I’ve only gotten a little over 3000 kills. I really hope this doesn’t become a trend with the content updates.
  • Some of the unlocks require you to die in various ways or a certain amount of times.
Ex: Cobra rocket launcher is only unlocked if you die from being crushed by a mech, the particle beam is only unlocked if you achieve 2500 total deaths, the reaper armor set (cosmetic) requires 5000 deaths, kills, and assists separately.
  • Lack of a tutorial

So last night I found this game called DarkBlox, I assume it’s similar to dark souls cause that’s what it makes it out to be, but it also seems to relate itself to rogue, anyways that doesn’t matter

It’s a very good game, and sadly it’s discontinued, I’ve only played a bit of it but from I played it was very fun and engaging

The pros
——————-

  • It has pretty good level design, everything fits where it is supposed to be perfectly

  • It’s quite engaging, despite the combat being a bit uhh…finnicky, it’s actually quite fun and it’s probably my favorite roblox combat I’ve seen (if it was polished it would be even better

  • There are a decent amount of quests and the game is very generous (atleast at the start). It feels like certain items cost a lot but trust me they really don’t

The cons
——————

  • the game is discontinued

  • The movement and combat is a bit weird, sometimes when you swing your sword or shoot magic it doesn’t register as a hit and also there’s no damage indication really, unless you pay attention to the health bar

  • White orbs as item drops, this isn’t bad per-say, but it can be confusing as white orbs are also used for a different main game item, yet they use it for all dropped items I’ve seen

Heroes! 2

The good:

  • It was made by Davidii, so you already know the quality standards.
  • Topdown dungeon crawler
  • Every. Single. Weapon. Is. Unique. (except for a couple outliers)
  • Every floor explodes upon victory.
  • The grind really isn’t that bad
  • Davidii is currently fixing problems with the game that resulted from trying to make it everything-compatible. (lack of attack variety per weapon, all attacks being automatic, ect)
  • Has a story that actually exists.
  • Every guild NPC in the map has special dialogue for every single completed mission.
  • Difficulty settings that greatly reward players
  • Most enemies are completely unique from each other, or, at the very least, different from their counterparts.
  • Despite there being a data wipe inbound, its completely optional and rewards players based on what sections they choose to wipe and what they have in those sections.
  • Incredibly kind and passionate developer who deserves way more than what they got.
  • One of the most satisfying games I’ve played on the platform.

The bad:

  • Too short.
  • Game didn’t get enough support so Davidii is probably going to have to move on and stop working on it after the remake is finished.

Tl;Dr : If you haven’t tried it yet, play it, if you’ve played it and thought the combat was boring, wait for the big update coming relatively soon and then try it again.

Borderlands 3

I’ve been quite a fan of Borderlands, and last year i got my hands on Borderlands 3, now i’m going to be brutally honest here: it’s not worth 60 dollars. Get it when it’s on sale, it’s worth it then.

The pros:

  • The random gun system: now as a fps enthusiast, Borderlands is my kinda game. Looter shooters in general are my favorite genre of games and when you mix a looter shooter together with gun parts that mix and match randomly? That’s a good gun system right there.

  • Artstyle: honestly, it’s a Borderlands game, not really hard to screw up the perfected. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all, and uses a comic book apperance, i’ll gobble that shit up quick.

  • Voice actors: They got a couple new va’s for the new vault hunters, most notably fucking ProDZ, although they kinda hid it as i will admit i had no idea he was voicing my character the entire fucking game.

  • The new Vault Hunters: They blew it away with this one, honestly my favorite roster so far.
    the character are pretty much:
FL4K, The Beastmaster: edgy mf. A crowd control character that uses pets, most notably a monky with a gun. They had me at monky with gun so as you may guess i mained him.
Moze, The Gunner: Titanfall pilot but you can create custom loadouts.
Amara, The Siren: normally Sirens are support classes, but they took a very different approach. you kinda just punch things and life steal.
Zane, Themself: ghost man, honestly he’s the most dull of the four, i didn’t really like him.

  • OST: honestly one of the most underrated part of this game, that shit bumpin, and also has variety.

  • doom super shotgun is in the game

Alright now that i’ve given the game my praise, its now time to just shit on it as hard as i can.

  • The Story: honestly if you want an in-depth explanation, someone made a fucking 1 hour long video about why it was shit and i agree with everything said in this video. The story was just a massive fuck you to us Borderlands fans.
  • The Humor: This is a Borderlands game, it’s supposed to be funny. this… this isn’t funny. It’s all shit jokes, and how a guy is going to kill you and puke in your skull, that’s it. maybe a sex joke if you’re lucky.

  • New gun gimmicks: yea i know that i gave the guns praise, but one company in particular, Atlas, has the most lazy gimmick to date. It homes. That’s it. And then we have to side with these idiots??

  • Old characters returning, but not getting used to full potential: pretty self explanatory, in Borderlands 2, all reoccurring characters from Borderlands 1 all had a part in the story. In Borderlands 3, uhhhhhhh, they die. that’s it. they kept tina, brick, and mordecai though, oh but you only get to see them in a single mission.

  • and last but not finally, WHY DID THEY MAKE HAMMERLOCK AND JAKOBS A GAY COUPLE??? I LIKE JAKOBS GUNS BUT THERE WAS NO POINT IN MAKING THEM GAY, ITS STUPID AS FUCK.

tldr: buy the game when its 20 dollars or less on steam, don’t get it anytime else.

Or pirate it…cough…

Troublesome Battlegrounds 2

TL;DR: It’s just ABA but better and with JoJo’s Characters only.

The Pros:

  • Heavily combo-based combat, leading to the more skillful player prevailing.
  • Most of the characters are pretty balanced. Keyword is most. I’ll get to them later.
  • Maps that are relatively well made and accurate to official material (JJBA: EOH)
  • Some skins that aren’t related to JJBA at all and reference different anime
    (E.G: Avdol’s Portgas D. Ace skin and (Part 1) Dio’s Muzan skin)
  • Very nice models for the characters and skins.
Here are some of my favorites.

image

  • DLC characters aren’t overpowered. They’re annoying to fight, but not OP.
  • Aside from buying new characters, in-game cash is only used for cosmetics.
  • Time Stop isn’t a “I used TS and now you’re fucked” move and instead a pretty elaborate punish tool.
  • The ability to lower your graphics
  • Mobile Support. …I guess that’s an upside.

The Cons:

  • Levelling is a slog. Takes you a week per 10 levels.
  • Projectiles are dumb and their hitboxes are super inconsistent. Sometimes you hit your opponent in the arm and doesn’t register or misses your target 5 meters away and somehow nails them perfectly. It’s weird.
  • Stun is really busted in this game ngl. Especially with Giorno and Koichi, both of whom have 2 stun moves each, as well as both of them have one of their stuns either bypass guard or guard break.
  • Half of the servers you join are infested with AFK’ers
  • DLC characters usually aren’t worth it, especially the 2 characters you’d buy the 2 dlc packs for, being Fugo and Jotaro (Part 4) respectively. Both of which being known as hard to use and taking high amounts of skill to use effectively.
  • This game has character awakenings, and although not every character has one, all of the characters who do have awakenings (Giorno, DIO (P3), Josuke, Polnareff and Doppio) are pretty meta since they’re really powerful.
  • Sometimes hits don’t even register. Take DIO (Part 3) and Jotaro (Part 4), with their Time Breaker and Blitz Strike moves respectively. These 2 moves are known to be incredibly inconsistent and have a chance to not even deal damage.

HOURS:
pros:
really fun
quite easy learning curve for beginners
classes generally have a main gimmick/type of playstyle
diffuculty modes
abilites you unlock via progressing with different characters

cons:
quite a bit of content is paid
some classes easily outclass others
bloxxerman’s final phase is extremely hard without halt or a ranged ability

there are probably more pros and cons but atm i cant find any others

ehh, i can agree
the game is very grind to win, like VERY grindy if you are new
personally now everybody is op and never attack eachother
waay back when everybody wasnt a literal god who has 100000+ hours on the game it was pretty fun
if you beat a high-class peron (which wasnt too op back then) it felt really rewarding

now though since it was pure PvP its pretty unfun and boring since you get ganked by xXTimmyXx with ultra rainbow one shot bow
