Rival Customization (QoL Feature)

Just because you don’t know what goes on behind the scenes doesn’t mean it isn’t happening, that’s an incredibly sad take and a logical fallacy that you yourself are using. so don’t try to take the high road against people who are trying to look past vetexs past behavior to give him another shot.

There have been a ton of times that collectively us as testers have brought suggestions to vetex in more readable or abridged versions and he takes aspects of them and actually implements them. It’s very rare that vetex takes a suggestion exactly as it is, but working with vetex it’s very difficult to get a good idea for what he wants for the game but eventually we’ve gotten better at presenting ideas in a way that makes sense for vetex and for the lore of the game itself

I would like this. It would make for something very cool lore wise. To each individual player, they can have a customized rival who can have unique traits about them because you have been looking for them (not to hunt) to actually fight as a respectable rival.

Like how people who cosplay as certain characters might have rivals like how Vegeta is to Goku (I know some people cosplay as him, don’t lie.)

Again, A developer would normally not keep suggestion channels or keep them open for a time period to collect a bunch of ideas to look thru, don’t pretend like you are running an effective system under the guise that I have no idea what’s happening on the background.

Nothing about this system is effective, You literally tell me that it’s difficult to work with Vetex but you don’t seem to realize that that’s because of his in-effective system.

If you think I’m logically wrong then please explain me how, cuz I seriously don’t see how anyone can see this system and say “Damn he’s improving so it’s okay” cuz this is not an improvement at all.

Wait, so you’re complaining because people are making suggestions that will (probably) never get added to the game? Or that there’s a suggestion channel vetex never looks at

kinda both, I think that this channel’s existence is dumb, it should have been closed a long time ago as it’s not maintained properly at all, Vetex doesn’t read it and from my observation it’s a pain for both role managers and new suggesters cuz why would anybody maintain a system that isn’t taken seriously?

Anyways it comes down to the part where the channel itself is a waste of time for people who think they are actually contributing. So we have a pointless system that’s being endorsed by people who are ignorant or don’t wanna bother with it.

As clash said previously, suggestions aren’t taken 1:1 in most scenarios. This is more like an ideas channel since Vetex asks for ideas regarding topics. Despite what he says, he does care about his community and reverses changes that people hate. Vetex can cherry pick which ideas he thinks are cool and incorporate them in his own style into the game or just throw them out entirely if they don’t fit his narrative. For instance, he could be fine with letting people customize the appearance of rivals with this suggestion but leave the tools they use to fight up to chance, in which case part of my idea would have made it into the game. I don’t care if he reads my suggestions or not. We are never forced to suggest and nobody who suggests does it thinking the entire idea will be transferred into the game. It is purely for sharing ideas we made and if they do get added because of popularity that’s just an even greater reward to know it made it in.

For example, Vetex and his dev-team are struggling with ideas for techniques for strength because there isn’t much leeway you can make to justify doing something with muscle over a softer power system like magic. Therefore, my last suggestion about the new techniques are a few ideas of what they could do. If any of the dev team reads that I simply hope they may see a new perspective on what kind of stuff they can do with it and can make more ideas even if they don’t accept the original 3.

You aren’t addressing anything I said at all, I feel like your kind of playing into what I said.

I mean most of your points aren’t wrong honestly but they aren’t what my problem is either.

Also Clash didn’t exactly make a point here, He kinda just proved that the system doesn’t make sense.

I mean sure, Let’s say that he did apparently bring suggestions to vetex, but shouldn’t the testers be using this system too?

I mean it’s not like suggestions here are badly structured or improperly designed, this isn’t a game discussion post.

If anything it sounds like them taking particular suggestions from here and flooding Vetex with them has caused a majority of communication to be cut, because now us Suggestors don’t actually get any information on what Vetex is looking for or how we are supposed to structure our suggestions for him.

Testers aren’t middle men, If anything his idea of how the system works is more improper and messy and probably much difficult to maintain

(calling it a system is generous cuz it isn’t even a system, in gross simplification it’s a chance based RNG that your efforts benefited the game based on someone’s personal preference)

Also if you personally don’t care about Vetex reading your suggestion then you would make a game discussion post. Because that feeling shouldn’t justify having a broken system that benefits no one, Especially those who actually want to get a meaningful suggestion with effort read by their favorite developer.

Which Is why I said that devs would either not have suggestion channels or open them temporarily, It’s disrespectful and vague and doesn’t meaningfully benefit anyone.

Only ignorant people are willing to use it which isn’t bad or evil, What is bad is defending the system and making it difficult for people who actually care from improving the system or calling it out.
