time to spit some facts:

the crab here in question looks like a Dungeness Crab, with the claw shape and 10 legs. Only difference i can see are the cartoonishly large spikes adorning it’s silhouette. Dungeness crabs live in West American shores, which are notorious for being sandy. Oh, and, the name itself, Dungeness, comes from Dungeness Bay, which is, and you guessed it, an extremely sandy shore.
