I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to everyone! I’ve been really happy with all the kind and encouraging feedback, and I wasn’t sure quite how to express my gratitude, haha.
That is an incredible compliment coming from Neptune’s leader. I’ve seen some of your clan’s bases in the building thread and they’re AWESOME!
Augh, I really feel you guys there. I can’t imagine going beyond T4 walls on a large island like Shale Reef. The cost is just too high, which is a shame because some of the higher tier walls look really cool! I think you can even go inside them.
For Silver Roost I used T4 walls, gates, and wall towers, T6 barracks and keep, T3 keep for the farmers, and T7 towers for the apollyon eyes (yup, it took a looong time).
You would be very welcome to! I could even invite you to the clan so you could load it in-game yourself. We only have about 4-5 members right now, which is kind of a shame because I’d love for more people to benefit from my builds.
Agh that sucks : (
I hope Full Release fixes it
I’m sooo happy I could inspire someone with this! That makes it all worth it
To get started, you only need enough galleons to make your own clan and then a couple thousand to construct a basic farm. Farming provides HEAPS of galleons to your treasury, enough to decorate like crazy and set up some cool walls. I could show you the optimal farm layout if you’d like.
I’m extremely happy about that! It was really fun placing small details and carving out a world and story for this build to convey. A good base has character, imo. And while the limited decorations and structures can’t do everything, you can make up for it by being descriptive. As long as the intent of depth is there, people will notice it.
Wow, a castle critic! That’s such high praise, thank you very much! I love them personally, but I feel like the problem is we can’t build much other than castles. There aren’t even houses! And it’s hard to decorate things on the inside when all we really have are various kinds of tables, boxes, and barrels. I don’t know how to make anything other than a tavern/restaurant or a storage unit, really
I’m so glad you think so!
Oh hey, while you’re here, remember this?
Back when you posted it, I actually started writing a story based on the build. Just a short thing. I’m not sure I’ll ever finish it, as after coming back to it I’ve realized I may have made a lot of faulty decisions and it’d be a little tricky to iron those out. BUT, I felt like you at least deserved to know that your creation inspired me.
I’m glad you tried your hand at decorating! Limited as it is, we can still make use of things like location, ingenuity, and clever placement to tell a story with what we build. Making something that gets people asking questions, and subsequently coming up with their own answers. “Why this island? Why this structure? Why these colors, or this material? What could its history be?”
