Just because he’s a curse user doesn’t mean he is instantly strong. Beringer was defeated by Argos who got beat by us months ago. besides it’s been a month and an awakening later so we could fight him.

Not only that but he was beaten by Morden, who literally got his course less than a month prior. Julian probably just put all of his points into attack so he could one shot people by surprise.

aa character at that time was in the 6th sea where they peaked in power

Rupin sidequest was going to be 3rd sea (roughly level 250)
and Rupin is much stronger than Julian
that was in ar
in aa we werent supposed to fight him until 6th sea

That was an AR storyline, trigno wasn’t fighting him in AA, he was still trying to find him
pk failed to kill rupin either way
Also AR storyline, we don’t know if we failed or succeeded, just know it’s a sidequest which means we’re on par with Rupin
we know pk failed because in the lore it says trigno was the one to kill him in the 6th sea

Kk we didn’t kill him probably because he ran/flew away or something but we definitely defeated them considering the quest was going to be “defeat Rupin”
