To also add some ideas:
Instead of islands, they are wide dips in the ground where more water can be found
Mryes also mentioned sand yachts as replacements for boats
Instead of the grand fire curses, they could be water since it would be more valuable
Instead of whirlpools there could be giant sand traps, and dub mentioned the dark sea being a giant sand storm instead
It wouldn’t be an arcane game without some form of sail-powered transportation
Oh yeah, also the dark sandstorm was formed from when Durza, the bad, worse, and floating orb so we can’t attach human beauty standards to it, used a blunderbuss at the equivalent of theos imbuing every single firearm he had absorbed over the years, causing a continuous storm of bullets
(If you can’t tell I’m really leaning into the magic → guns aspect of this)

they were made by Prometheus, but since this AU is set in a giant sprawling desert, I guess Prometheus just made… more.

Ok, but the reason the grand fire curses are so strong is because they are the aspects of Prometheus’s power, who became the strongest of the gods after gifting magic to humans.
Unless Prometheus is based off water in this au, I don’t see how they could possibly be more powerful

there sadly isn’t a pinnacle grand oasis user because… only 1 has been found… 
and it’s presumably used to bring life and prosperity to a specific kingdom since the curse can cause life around it to blossom and the soil to become rich with nutrients
