Realizing we’re dealing with an extremist it became VERY funny
Okay, by no means do I advocate for communism. In fact, I don’t think it’a a good way to go out of capitalism, I think it has failed too many times, and there’s really no reason, at this point, to give a model that clearly won’t coexist with capitalism another shot
However. The point I’m trying to make by opposing the two and using them as buzzwords is that I believe the whole debate hidden under AI is that of growth, which I think you’ll agree is inseparable from a capitalist system
Of what kind may I ask ?
I can’t really fathom your view of a political spectrum
I’m standing on the left edge of the left, bordering the far left
Buddy you are the far left lol. Youre in the void of the the far of either side
I’m guessing you live in the US
That’s what a right wing consensus does to people
So no, I don’t. In france I advocate for, rather than a revolution, a regime change through democratic means, which will probably be done via multiple steps, into a more sustainable redistributive system, which capitalism does not seem to allow for.
If I was where you picture me I’d advocate for the mass murder of world leaders in order to create a stateless society
ew france
Yeah I know. I was born with that shit though not much I could do about it ![]()
Also sorry I fcked your topic up mate, these guys really grind my gears (not walyn he’s fine)
I’m probably getting muted for good reasons whenever mis logs on :,)
I don’t think that growth is what people debate about AI, the rapid allocation of capital to AI technology simply exacerbates the issues, real or misplaced, that people have with AI, bringing about debate. I also don’t think growth as I understand it within this context is something unique to capitalism - in an economic system where resource allocation is more controlled and less prone to what I suppose could be likened to a gold rush, resources would still be moved to this new technology, and as the issues found with the new technology become more prominent, the debate about the issues would do so as well.
True. Not what I mean though
I think that one of the driving factors for AI accelerationism is growth which itself is inherent (even if not unique) to a capitalist system. It’s the whole shtick of speculative markets (awfully rushed argumenent)
And sure, AI would probably be developped in any system, but I do think that generative AI specifically would see much less of a use. (I’m much more open to the use of AI, that had existed for longer than chat GPT has been around for, in specific fields of science)
Anyway my head aches so I’m gonna go to sleep now. Also I swear I’m reasonable… sometimes… div, mis don’t be too harsh :,)
everything could have been handled internally and probably resolved quietly if astralworks hadn’t decided to make it a public spectacle in the middle of an already chaotic release. this is typical seeking behavior from someone who clearly loves being in the middle of things even when it actively makes everything worse. vetex already has modelers like jtn, and can hire somebody in astral’s place. it’s not worth keeping someone who’s actively damaging game progress on the team. friendship and occupation are two completely separate things.
What if I built a robot that molests children
(If anyone knows what I’m referening you a real one fr)
Idk the refrence but if the robot is doing strictly what you’re told it too then it would fall to you
The other argument is the robot is acting on its own now we have artificial life and that’s a whole moral debate I don’t think humanity truly ready to have yet
Charlie_Turnip, The Queen of Buzzwords lmao
Charlie_Turnip remind me of those Twitter leftie SJW back before 2020 (I Absolutely hate those peoples for how obnoxious and annoying they are)
I can’t even hate them beside the part of me finding it funny it’s also pretty sad
i watched all those arguments and charlie_turnip is so fucking ass af lmao since bro is keeping throwing all those buzzwords
The child molesting robot is a direct reference to an SNL skit where Dwayne the Rock Johnson plays as a supervillain showcasing his invention to a board of mad scientists for a competition
I stopped caring once I realize the convo was none existent and the classic fear mongering tactics
bet he went to “sleep” because he started to lose argument and hope that everyone forget about it next day
Well then
