The science behind magic creation in Arcane? (And some holes in it)

The soul manipulates the magic energy in the air or ground touching you, and draws it into your body. The magic effect when you do so could be you filtering out tiny increments of magic energy that became magic but didn’t get out of your body, but too small to do harm.

The closer the energy is, the more easily and precisely you / your soul can manipulate it.

One thing I don’t understand is that the magic energy around you is neutral, more or less, before coming through your mind into your magic. Why would it go through your mind before being filtered out of your body when charging?

I don’t know tbh, the charging color thing was just a thought I had. The theory’s still a work in progress

I think the stuff you see when charging is just remnants of a spell you were making that got stuck in your body

How magic works hasn’t been defined and probably never will

Vetex himself said that charging magic is just the body taking magic energy from nearby sources though

Shadow is just the name given to the magic, if it were actual “shadows” of objects then it wouldn’t be particles

Agreed, it has to be made of some substance or energy.

So, are all magics actually the same? But the way the energy has been arranged and how it reacts with the users soul changes the form and properties of it?

Hmm, I know you said you didn’t put much thought into it, but what would you consider to be the referred shadow if you ever have to specify it?

Yeah, its just magic energy taking a different form

It’s probably more or less reshaped magic energy with different properties. We’ve never gotten an indepth explanation on how magic works though.

Its just a black evil-ish energy idk, it isn’t that deep

Cool

Pretty interesting. Thanks for dropping in and explaining a few things!

I’m sorry to ask if this wastes your time, but do you know how or why magic energy in the user’s body is converted into their respective magic? Is it through the mind or soul?

Edit: He probably has better things to do, this comment was greedy

Never said it was a chemical reaction, still coparable.

I know, same argument with fire, to give it some sense we must go to some level of insane metaphysics, or just say Vetex has his focus on the story not the science, both ways works well to me ngl

Aren’t the user’s minds responsible for that?

Probably, just pretty confusing

Bro this isn’t game theory we’re literally in a universe with dead gods and literal magics and curses, why are we trying to put science behind it
