Yeah, I’m pretty sure in the video it said that if you don’t give them the proper conditions they can desert or rebel
low supplies will cause that but they give you a warning when that happens

At least desertions can only happen when you’re in-game but unfocused, right? Severe things like that can’t happen offline, can they?
Depends on if the Fleet System works offline (I think it doesn’t). If it doesn’t, then you’re fine. If it does… good luck.
They also might not give you those reminders when you’re in the Dark Sea, so there’s a chance that happens while you cannot tell it was happening.
I think that only followers can desert but im not a tester so idk

If I come back after disconnecting from a dark sea expedition and see that my top deckhand just deserted I’m ending it all right then and there
you don’t NEED to buy the fleet tiers, they progress on their own if the fleet is doing that
most of the fleet content should be unlockable with a few caravels or ketches and a low level deckhand with minimal royalty as the progress offline
Yeah I’d rather it be through experience type of levelling instead of plain old “hey give me the entire gdp of a small african micronation and I’ll get some new clothes” type of levelling
