How about a power where nobody else’s abilities or attacks can hurt you but in exchange you have no special ability if your own.
Pretty op, really only gets beaten by reality altering abilities or abilities that can blow up/do considerable damage to the planet.
Teleportation also counts as a reality altering ability.
This is all assuming you won’t get folded in a 1v1.
The ability to quite literally create pocket dimensions and trap people or put yourself in them for transportation or combat
As well as inatimate objects
Broken assuming there are no conditions to using it.
You could just put anyone there if they are bothering you.
If you can change how the pocket dimension looks like/acts, then it becomes an insta-kill ability. Just make the pocket dimension have like 40x the gravity of earth and pop them in. They become mulch.
Also can store nukes and shit.
The ability to “see” the truth
Pretty good if this also allow you to see the future.
It’s good regardless, means you can’t be deceived by anything.
The ability to copy other abilities
The ability of omnipotence
The ability to manipulate, create, control, and become ramen soup, including broth and noodles
There is an impasta among us.
I think my brother is the impasta
you gave way too much “extra” shit to the power in the original topic post
honestly its just lame when you stack things on something like this, and take out literally any detriment to the user.
the power would be much more interesting if the user was still impacted by what they do to themselves.
obviously it’d still be powerful but in a stupid and lame way
simply being strong doesn’t make something entertaining or interesting
doesn’t mention trapping, things that aren’t magical abilities that don’t hurt you, etc
too vague with how its worded to tell how “powerful” it is as you seem to be under the assumption this would be in a world where other people have “abilities”
in which case it’d be further stupid if this ability could simply nullify anything else
obviously useful? this is overly plain and generic
quite useful I guess, but still boring if that’s just it.
being able to only tell if someone is “lying” is much more interesting than seeing the truth.
works on the assumption that other people have abilities, in which case obviously useful
however we’re given no details of what other abilities exist
don’t answer that please don’t start some rant about some superhero world
I mean you could drown people in it so, useful I guess? still random and overall boring
The ability to give people skill issues ez ez ez
The ability to become and control cheese
The ability to transform your body parts into whatever you please, except the object must be inatimate and cannot be based on a living thing.
I.E: you can turn your arm into a giant gun, but you cant turn it into a dinosaur claw or octopus tentacle
to what extent is “whatever I please”
obviously I could turn myself into a giant robot or make my arms into blades the size of skyscrapers with that
the only “flaw” that it can’t be based on a living thing is irrelevant and overall kinda boring
Ok well another flaw is the object you transform the limb into still has weaknesses that it would normally have
Like you can melt metal
Ground based attacks can neutralize electrical devices
Also you can’t go ridiculously big, so don’t even think about turning into like a freaking skyscraper, the biggest you can get is probably a SUV.
Still debating on whether or not it should be limited to only one limb or 2
yeah but then you’re just stacking flaws only somewhat related to the power itself to nerf an already stupid and boring power
crappy powers like that have all sorts of little “loopholes” so to speak
for instance, you say I can’t go ridiculously big, but whats to stop me from just continually splitting massive amounts of dynamite from myself and detonating it in a city?
given you said you could “make your arm into a giant gun” it would obviously be possible
no limit on what you could do it to was mentioned either, whats to stop me from making a shit ton of high grade nuclear material/gold/silver/etc?
or even, I could simply fling a ton of tiny superheated metal shards at a high speed towards any target and tear them to ribbons
even if the object “still has weaknesses that it would normally have” theres a bunch of pretty strong shit out there
tldr; if you have to continually “nerf” or remove things from a power to make it even somewhat viable in any sense, then it already sucks
How about the ability to turn people, animals, or inatimate objects into 2d that can be ripped up
into 2d what? just paper? not enough specification
its still boring and lame with no counterplay
just the reverse of that (making 2d objects into real things) would be so much more interesting
How about the ability to summon and unsummon Bob Ross at will
This power has no flaws
