Well no, because there’s not one that would intake the other, it’s just hot thing + cold thing = not cold no more.
You could say I guess that if cold is the absence of heat, then the cold saps the heat, but the heat makes more heat, and then a similar thing happens.

If the shadow magic slurping up the consistent light magic causes an explosion, then the cold magic slurping up the consistent heat magic causes an explosion.
Heat and a “cold” together wouldn’t really be like equinox, because they’d more likely neutralize each other than anything
Equinox is so powerful because light and shadow cannot properly mix, making it unstable. Heat and a potential cold wouldn’t have the same effect as far as I can tell.
so why does shadow and light work?
well technically light and shadow should mix to just make slightly less bright light, so i don’t see why heat and cold couldn’t work if vetex decided so
