I think refusing to tag and specify sensitive content in online stories/fanfic is a valid approach in the interest of maintaining suspense. You still should notify that there is, in fact, sensitive content—and even the “extremeness” of said content—but I don’t think you’re at all obligated to specify what it is.
Gonna be honest, an adult should have some amount of mental resilience, as a lot of this stuff pertains to things that happen in the real world. And I think that encouraging avoidance of that content results in lessened empathy for those who have suffered it in real life.

Really? I personally think that shonen is poorly written and doesn’t have much depth, but I find watching shonen to be fun regardless. (shonen communities do suck though)
When you say Shonen is poorly written and doesn’t have depth, what you’re really referring to is Battle Shonen in specific. Shonen just refers to the magazine it was published in, so the entire category is too broad to determine if it has bad writing.
You wouldn’t really say that things like Frieren, JoJo (1-6), Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc are poorly written even though they are Shonen.
You are right that I am primarily directing that to battle shonen. Regardless, I feel my opinion still holds true but to a far lesser extent. However, none of the shows you stated have objectively good writing. (who are we kidding though, practically no TV show does)
