I’ve never really interacted with that game. Might need to check out some terraria songs.
classic
Let’s start!
- All arcade rhythm games (specially those by Bemani and Sega), thus you can count all BMS of Fighters songs.
- There are too many and it’s a rabbit hole. Once you know one of them you know them all
.
You want examples that badly? Okay.
- There are too many and it’s a rabbit hole. Once you know one of them you know them all
from Ongeki, SEGA. By chiptune specialist composer.
Never fight me when it comes to music talk.
from Beatmania IIDX 18, Bemani [Konami], this is the full version because complete versions are always better.
A Lost Paradise of piano (3rd best instrument)
from Sound Voltex Exceed Gear, Bemani [Konami].
By Sound Voltex God Kaneko Chiharu. Final Boss-sounding theme. Lots of piano as well (artist’s specialty).
Little mentions
- Under Night In-Birth (Night Walker & Blood Drain)
- Library of Ruina (Roland and Angela)
- I think Blue Archive can count?
I WILL NOT PLAY IT, EVER.I’m not into Future Bass but Library of Omen and Gregorius’s theme are good

- Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (I’m half-way through Umineko and I have watched the Higurashi anime but I haven’t played the source material, a visual novel).

Higeki (Tragedy) and both versions of Hayashi are excellent.

Zweii!! is super niche but it does have good music https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/zwei-original-soundtrack
I like Fairies’s Village, but the best, best one is Mythical Land Serpentina, probably because it uses the game’s leitmotif to great effect. -
Octopath Traveler - The soundtracks of the games are both great, and they sound much better if you know each song’s context.
They do.
They really do.
Like you have no idea.
I prefer II, however, due to this.
If you know each character’s leitmotifs, For the Dawn kills any other boss theme in history. They don’t stand a chance. My favorite is The Journey For Legends Ends…
Then we got Atelier.
- Favorite games soundtrack-wise are, in order;
#3 - Totori (great overall, it has one of the best shop themes I’ve ever listened to [Tiny Village Shop, I think I like Jazz.], and Yellow/Red Zone make a good use of the xylophone [you seldom heard this instrument being used seriously]).
#2 - Shallie (I’m fond of the battle themes the most,
this is a boss theme, so it’s naturally worse if you lack the context. Sweep! (#1) easily Sweeps! all over different game’s battle themes).
#1 - Firis (While Tale Spinning Journey -Day- is the best song [you are not allowed to disagree], all the other themes are excellent; from field themes, to gag themes, to battle ones [for example, Sign -Lakebottom- is the precedent of Pororonga {god damn it, Gust Sound Team!}).

Right, @Retribution? You should know how good the soundtrack of this franchise is.~
- Oh right, add Blue Reflection (https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/blue-reflection-ost) as an honorary mention sublime rhyme.
It’s also made by Gust (developers of Atelier).
It has an anime adaptation where the word “feelings” is said 7 times over the course of five minutes!
The soundtrack is less rural/relaxed sounding than Atelier’s, and its instrumentation is more modern, which is great for electronic-music lovers, though I haven’t listened to it much other than some crossfades on Soundcloud.
Man I’m in shock. The amount of effort put into this list is insane; I commend it.
I’m not even gonna try to fight you (who knows what would happen to me).

i guess pokemon diamond/pearl and black/white
Banger
Insaneintherain’s sinnoh album is great if you haven’t heard of it. My favorite has to be team galactic hq.
DID SOMEBODY FUCKING MENTION ATELIER???
AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Anyways.
Going even further off of what Rime has posted here of a heavily Gust-focused set of music, I wish to make a shoutout to another title by Gust Co. Ltd. that, while the gameplay and story are meh, the soundtrack and concept are fucking BANGERS.
Nights of Azure
Don’t even ask me how I found out this game existed; an extension channel on YT I found a while back randomly uploaded some stuff from the game. One of em’ interested me, so I just clicked on it and asked.
“Hey, what’s this sound like? The name of the song and the game’s title and box art looks cool-”
“OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD!!!”
Yeah. This game’s soundtrack is a fucking BANGER. It’s a shame any amount of research into it will show it’s an eh title for the most part
Really a shame they didn’t keep the same people on for the sequel’s music.
I just hope Gust returns to this style eventually, because holy shit Nights of Azure’s music is SPECTACULAR for the kind of Devil May Cry gameplay and themeing they wanted to achieve.
I don’t know what I have awakened. Should I be scared?
Yes.
I don’t know about Rime, but you have just awakened fans of a niche game studio with ballin’ music and frankly very ballin’ games (for the most part…)
Lots of games that have their soundtrack featured in Smash Bros. Ultimate. That game is full of bangers.
pizza tower
I’m still stuck with persona 3 portable on my switch
Wow all of these songs are really cool!
Just music to my ears :D!
So I’ll toss in my two cents and place Red Dead Redemption 2 onto there for good measure
Good ol Wild West music
That going hard would be an understatement
