How about you go find your lost father figure
You replied to me while Im GAMING
Omori OST has amazing bangers that suit the mood of the story and the area that you are in, the songs can actually be emotional, even if you don’t know the story which is something that you almost never see
Hollow knight OST has amazing ambience and has possibly one of the best/ most fitting music for each area it plays in, complimenting the overall aesthetic/ feel of the area. The ost also changes while remaining the same song depending on the area you are in by changing/ removing instruments, adding a filter/ effect, or overall just adding ambience
Touhou’s OST has ONLY bangers that 99% of the time fit the energy of the stage/ boss you are fighting
Terraria (mainly calamity) makes you feel like a badass whenever you are in a bossfight
Deltarune/ Undertale clerverly reuses motifs in a genius way without making it feel like a copy and paste
Roblox-wise, deepwoken definently has the best OST
Breath of the Wild has an overall amazing ost that always fits the area that you are in
Touhou music goes hard
pokemon music goes hard
oh yes how could I forget about this gem
self explanatory if you’ve ever gotten to the part where it plays (legitimately at that)
epic necro but honestly, Everhood is seriously fucking underrated. Literally noone seems to know about it, and it perfectly answers this question
Why?
because the combat is literally avoiding things based off the music. Like, go check the game out, it’s amazing and got seriously overshadowed by FnF’s release
Wandersong: the entire game
Absolutetly ballers game. Most people will just dismiss the game as undertale x FnF but when you really play the game for like 5 minutes they are not even close. Probably has the most consistant bangers i’ve heard in a game OST right next to Touhou
Also unrelated after replaying hollow knight I have come to restate what I said before. Hollow Knight utilizes music in THE BEST way. period, there is actually no debate here. There might be some other games that have better ambience but the way HK uses it is absolutely divine. Whenever you enter an area, most games will just give you the song, that is standard; But what HK does is whenever you enter an area is give you a pinch of the song, then slowly unveil itself the more you explore. Almost each different room changes the Song at least in a slight way, whether it be adding/ removing instruments, just adding a filter like dampen/ suppress, or completely re-arranging the song and it ALWAYS fits the theme of the room and while yes, some games do utilize this, I don’t think i’ve ever seen it to THAT scale. Yeah sure Hollow Knight probably doesn’t have as many BANGERS but it sure as hell uses its OST in the best way i think i’ve ever seen in a video game
how about terraria boss music?
Theres that one Pokémon gym leader theme that plays a part when they terastalize
splatoon, it bops
A bit late but I was reading through the thread and I wanna add that guilty gear does the same for their character themes as each one of their songs has some meaning in the lore of the characters such as Leos being about his survivor’s guilt and Faust being about his madness and such.
Deepwoken
Ive played it since and you are right! They are amazing
murder william
I wanna say Yume Nikki and it’s fangames but I feel like that’s cheating
