yes, he does
lack of experience
heās been there the same amount of time as us, and he was at the same level that youād be in that area at.
I think itās natural that after Chapter 9, which seemed like a bit of a climax with the Keraxe-Sameria war, weāll get a major turn in what weāre doing with our time.
I think Ravenna will come through on their deal with Sameria, sending their resources who werenāt standing around in the basement of Fort Talos.
And what does Ravenna do when they see the player? Realize that itās the guy who killed their monarch!
And whatās Sameria gonna do when they found out you killed the monarch whoās death caused this war? TURN ON YA!!
I think Sameria will turn against us in this next chapter!
Thinking of it, youāre able to raid a Samerian fortress, you gain fame from killing Samerian soldiers, the game mechanically treats them as an enemy! I think they will be!
They even set up Medjays, what an absolute Chekhovās Gun!
Logistically speaking turning on us, given our strength is just gonna make Sameria easier pickings for Keraxe. 1) because you are losing valuable strength, 2) because of the infighting
They arenāt gonna turn us in to ravenna because otherwise it will just make sameria province more Vulnerable
We are not the backbone of their military, they sent the most tactically focused member of the group to deliver a letter, and the only ones who did any fighting for them were a random curse user and a random lost magic user who have an advantage anyway.
They have commanders and generals who are probably way stronger than either of those two.
I never want to hear anyone on the forums complain about bad writing ever again.
Jokes aside, hereās what I imagine (wildly so) will happen, based on probably poorly recalled plot points, speculation about whoās on what side and planning on doing what, and letting said speculation board the train of thought headed to what sounds cool to me at the time, while trying to keep things cohesive:
Hassan is an Order agent, probably a Baron. He has access to Devourers. Weāre going to go beat up one of the Sons of Wotan, with Morden and Wotan tagging along. After a difficult battle, everyoneās low on juice, Hassan is going to make his moveā¦
⦠and hit the Son of Wotan with the Devourer. Hassan may have had eyes on the Death Curse, but heās likely not stupid. If he goes after Morden, heās going to have to fight us and anyone still standing on our side; heās not getting away from that clean, and wouldnāt be able to cover it up. His role is to be a foothold in Sameria, and killing an ally (and failing to get away with it) would go against that.
Wotan shows up, but so does Warren, they get to fighting, we get to stepping. I hope we get another ship escape sequence where we have to dodge incoming projectiles while the battle between the two goes on (with a cutscene beforehand or after showing it in more detail). Itāll likely end with Warren leaving once weāre in the clear.
We arrive back at the Sun Palace, and a celebration is held - the war is over, Keraxe is falling back! Not only did they lose one of the Sons to a neophyte Curse user and a particularly talented mercenary, but Sameria is up a Curse, Ravennaās finally mobilized to support, and for whatever reason one of the strongest Curse users decided to run interference for them. They could still win, but it would be a tough fight, and if any other major factions joined the fight against Keraxe, Keraxe would certainly lose more than it stands to gain.
At the celebration, we hear a familiar voice (or I guess see a familiar text) say āIāve finally found you!ā
Itās General Julian, completely friendly, who greets us as āthe Liberator of Ravennaā, letting us know that our good friend Neviro revealed the truth of King Calvusā corruption, and all is forgiven. He even gives us a letter from Neviro, saying that all is well!
In truth, General Julian would like nothing more than to glass us and our friends, but he knows he lost to an amateur Death Curse user who has likely gotten stronger, so heās going to cut his losses and focus on himself and Ravenna first. As for whether heās with the Order or not, I am thinking no (mainly for the novelty of a hostile story Curse User thatās not a member of the Order or Keraxe), but heās open to working with them if itās to his benefit.
Morden reads the letter, and as soon as heās able to do so he tells his mercenaries that they need to pack up and go right now. During [playername]'s testing of the hip new profession known as Mining back in Bronze, Neviro, perhaps inspired by the cloak and dagger that the Order themselves are likely to use in their operations, came up with a code phrase that was in the letter, relaying one critical piece of information: The letter was written under duress. At dawn, we sail back to the Bronze Sea to rescue Neviro.
Why would the Order (or at least thatās the assumption) do this? Either they get a new test monkey, or they get bait to draw back some high value targets onto turf of their choosing. It is not the most well-laid plan, but the leadership of the Bronze branch of the Order is all but wiped out, so the remnants could be trying to make a power play to get the support of the rest of the Order.
In the meantime, Hassan sends a report to the sky about the new Curse in the Orderās pocket and the movements of Mordenās Mercenaries, Order agents fish up a Sunken Prince, and a Cloud Prince meets with a Conqueror to conspire against a mutual foe.
I donāt know why I typed all this, I suppose I just like the intrigue angle, which is why I didnāt think Skyhall was that bad (in turn based on speculation that the Queen and Not Yet Fallen Prince are high end Order agents), and got inspired. In addition, what I think would be crazy and/or funny if it happened:
- Nilah uses the Sun Curse and goes Archimedean on the Keraxe fleet.
- Skyhall drops an island on Keraxe. Completely unlikely at this point, especially considering their need to not burn resources on ābut thatād be so cool if we did thisā, but itād be so cool if they did that.
- Prince Revon executes General Julian for his failure with a Devourer, and takes the Cloud and Glass Curses for himself, becoming a Cloud/Glass Supercurse. I have no idea if this would even be possible logistically (eg. if the Cloud Curse is still up for grabs, if Curses can be transported). Hope you like breathing clouds of glass!
- Same as above, but add whatever Curse Hassan yoinked in my idea above into the mix.
i will be happy with anything except if its another talk to npc A talk to npc B return to sameria ahhh storyline
Introductions understood. Modeling Hassenās nipples now.
laser nipples*
is the sky blue ahhhh
fully modeled general hassan
difference is Iām not a writer nor am I claiming to be one.
Jokes aside, I actually like the angle you took with this in Hassan being an Order Baron. In all honesty it makes sense. And having Sameria go up a curse and killing a Son of Wotan would be the perfect angle for them to sue for peace. May I ask, in your opinion, which curse do you think it will be?
Second point Iād like to bring up is having Warren involve himself in the War is incredibly unlikely and I believe it was already shot down. Either way, thereās no way I donāt see the Cloud Curse being claimed by the end of this whole ordeal. Ravenna is in way too weak of a state right now, someone has to take it.
Like I said, poorly recalled. I may have misinterpreted a statement I recall saying that weād see some high level Curse combat.
If this is how it played out, probably Frostmetal, since I think that one has shown up the most in dialogue.
I think I was too subtle, I meant to hint that Revon got the Cloud Curse with the line about the āCloud Princeā.
We get to see the King Admiral in this sea
taking into account weāre entering chapter ten which was confirmed to have two bosses and our first legit curse user boss fight, weāll either have to fight julian or a son of wotan. It was stated weād be getting our ahh kicked around in the coming chapters and around level 250 weād have some kind of āātraining arc?āā which is also where we will have our 2nd awakening and be strong enough to fight a curse user on equal terms. Taking that into account revon is a definite no, heās too weak even if he were to manifest the cloud curse (one of the weakest curses too).
Even if julian was to appear and start attacking us, morden would just straight off kill him/nilah would interfere and maybe thereād be some drama about us killing king calvus like stated above. Thatās why Iād bet wotan himself or a son of wotan will just easily break through the blockade and storm sameria, and since I doubt even the entire group together along with akeem or nilah could take on 2-3 of them at once, Iād assume it would go something like above and weād be forced to go to skyhall(?) temporarily where weād fight the 2nd boss in chapter 10 (since itās obvious as fuck weāll go back to skyhall in the story). This or weāre just sent away on some other mission again, which would be boring because Iām on my knees to see wotan/a son of wotanās designs and curses in play
I doubt lucian is a baron of the order, at most an agent. Honestly itās hard for me to believe either veronica or lucian as much of a fighter (tho lucianās character just looks like a bully so maybe) but if I have to guess veronica is the baron, which would also make sense how she would have wanted to marry zenith as fast as possible after the queenās death to get her fingers on their family as they are legacies after all. While veronica doesnāt seem to care about her other children, it seems like she has a connection with lucian, hence why itād make sense if he would be something like her pawn thus why he planned the murder on liara (as it feels pretty obvious the murder wasnāt just for spite of sea people, but something deeper as lucian is behind it too). The highlord most probably be somebody from the sameria generals, as theyād be pretty obviously made seem as more of a fighter than a queen in a dress. Hassan would be too obvious imo, so maybe itās Akeem. But then also itās kind of hard to imagine such an og like akeem and good friend of nilah would be a highlord but it would also make sense with vetexās writing and what he calls plot twists
though I believe vetex wouldnāt even have mentioned ravennaās curse vault ās existence if it wouldnt have had some importance later on (like revon maybe manifesting the cloud curse from there, or itās just random).
oh man I really hope akeem isnāt related to the order
When you try hunting The Order Of Aesir for the first time but your first target is General Akeem so you lowk just let him continue on with his day
akeem deserves death for not going all in and instead withdrawing like a baby boy
lucian is likely to be at least somewhat competent of a fighter, since hes a legacy he automatically gets a big advantage
veronica i agree with though
