I don’t think the burning status stacks else it’d be too similar to flare. I didn’t took any clips but if you look at videos on yt
people probably got hit by surge and assumed that burning stacks while it refreshes on non-surge spells.
Hope it’s stats are a decent improvement on fire cause otherwise that seems kinda lackluster for a lost magic. At least flare’s gimmick, even if it isn’t very cool, seems like it could be really effective.

You’ve got a point, actually. I really just want something with at least 1.2x speed and a DoT that’s not completely boring. Basically Plasma but again. Provided that Flare has the speed, I guess it does meet that.
Surge is unique for the fact that it stacks status effects regardless of whether or not the status is stackable.
During initial release of the spell, that property was heavily abused. Gale Gel + Surge was free stunlock, Water and Ice surge was able to blind people more effectively than actual blinding magic due the fact that the obscuring effects last a VERY LONG TIME and they STACKS with Surge.

be aware that you need to do a certain amount of damage per tick to apply the status, in poison’s case it’s 40, (if you even use poison in the first place)

surge shouldnt stack but it should increase the damage of the dot
e.g. instead of 10 “1” damage dots it would be 1 “10” damage dot if you land 10 ticks
Is there actually even a difference? It seems like that’s what it’s already doing but with more smaller numbers.
