why isnt he banned

Because I don’t think the admins have seen it yet

I don’t think there is a procedure lol

hire me i’m a valuable asset

The procedure is forbidden, you have to do the hidden ritual found within the ancient text in-game to summon Vetex, and then you can hand in your resume or portfolio or whatever to him, before he vanished in a puff of aether lightning

So all the people who became devs (from what I know) rose the ranks rather than resume (considering I saw them at a different rank I suppose but I believe their contributions allowed them to be noticed and under circumstances, manage to become developer

For people who became mods/testers, you usually had to have done something contributing and be noticed for your efforts or very trustworthy(and being very in touch with the community) or those extremely rare recruit forms

With how much is on the team, they wont recruit anybody for a long time unless somebody gets noticed, I doubt a resume will work anymore, you just gott be handpicked now at this point for any trusting reason (since I saw some like yona manage to become a tester after a few years of being a member of the vetcord community)

(This all from observation, not accurate)

If your friend did want to be a developer, he’d probably start out as a tester and take months or years trying to become a dev, from all those people who are in dev, theyre also people who gained a LOT of trust and communication with Vetex. The chance of your friend being a dev is extremely low.
The closest he can get is being a contributor (modelling/building)/tester/game or community mod if he dedicated a lot of time and effort into the community. So really even if youre a skilled coder you still have to go through all those procedures and chances which could take months , years, or never depending on the current vet-team

The biggest problem with being a coder is having a similar style to vetex which Im unsure if that rule of being a dev is still there

Theres a good chance they wont be that easy-going with hiring people unlike the recruitment rate from months/years back

(Unsure if spells/skills means that your friend codes them/etc but felt like yapping anyways but if he can replicate a style (like spell/skill animations then he should have a chance but still low, even lower if its probably coding them)

Basically, make an AO fangame or other such project that’s at least decently impressive, make sure the community likes it too. Get people to essentially want you to be hired by doing things like like making things for the game and posting them on the forum, making people wish it was in the game.
That’s a combination of how Moochezz and one other modeler guy got on the team.

okay thats good, since my friend was the lead programmer for a very polished fighting game that has almost 2 million plays

this the typa stuff u see on live leak

You did not need to ping Vetex for this??

Pretty much this.
There are many ways to reach development roles in this game. But if you ask, you won’t get it.

this is all that i am asking to know.

Just a small question, but why is pinging vetex such a big deal? I would never ban/suspend someone for causing a tiny green circle to appear on my screen. I could see that changing after years of community exposure and erosion but it would still be nice to know why.

cause he sees random pings as needless interruptions of dev time
he lets patreon members do it in the patreon channel in vetcord cause they paid and are less likely to ask stupid questions

if it wasnt against the rules then everyone would do it, and THEN it would become a problem

honestly 1 or 2 people pinging vetex every once in a while isnt a big deal but the rule needs to be there to prevent it from happening all the time
