Got banned from oaklands for exposing a scammer, bug abuser, manipulator, etc etc (genuinely awful person) and making what he was doing publicly known so people stopped doing business with him.

I felt bad for like a minute and then thought “wait their moderation protects people like this? thank god they banned me I don’t want anything to do with this shitshow”
That gives me “moderator that’s an awful person so they protect other awful people” vibes
yea like the guy I’m talking about was using a bug that let them instantly process and transport materials that were never really meant to be processed and sell each one for like 100k.
he was having people set it up for him for 40k a piece.
(this should have been an unappealable ban on the spot)
he walked away with like 600 mil ingame.

this seems like such a common thing I’ll never understand why
its often confusing if you’re just a spectator in one of these situations, but if you’re part of it trying to get someone banned (who needs it) it can be really disheartening and upsetting
You’re right that it’s definitely a sign to leave wherever it happens. Depending on what it is it can be difficult to leave but it’s probably worth it in the end
the crazy thing is the guy DID get banned… for like an hour.
they literally had to update the game to change a mechanic he was using for his bug abuse that destroyed hundreds of builds that utilized that same mechanic.
and somehow I’m the problem because I was a bit mean to him in DMs, tried to tear down his scam operation that broke like every rule in the game, and refused to make a big public apology.
this is another thing with these situations ive noticed too
the person youre wanting banned could’ve done things totally abhorrent, but moderation will get stuck on you doing something else that, while possibly punishable, is far from equal and should frankly be pushed aside at least until the game’s equivalent of a war criminal is dealt with
It really makes me wonder what the mods “dealing” with stuff like this are actually like

It was because I was fighting Mis in WoM and saying gg after every match without anything in between

the reason for ban said something completely nonspecific like “violating our terms of service”
